This was my first volunteer experience, and I had a wonderful time with Ruth and her dog Roxy. The work tasks were clear and besides cleaning the cottages they depended on what needed to be done at the time. Ruth was very kind and good at taking consideration to what you wish to do during your spare time there. She was also flexible and made the best out of any situation. I really recommend this place if you love nature and want to see what it's like on the beautiful Scottish countryside. The views were truly breathtaking. Thank you so much Ruth:)

This was my first volunteering experience and I'm so glad it was with Ruth :) The week I spent at her place was wonderful, the tasks very clear and we had many different things to do in the garden, the cottages, the house. I'm also so glad that we got to explore this part of Scotland as well!! (Also the dog is absolutely lovely) If you love nature and are ready to open up, learn, feel, I cannot recommend this place enough!!!

This was, without a doubt, an impeccable project that I was fortunate to be apart of. Ruth welcomed me into her home and laid what she had planned - the work kept you busy and it was varied which I really enjoyed. I'm very grateful for this experience, I will always look back on this with fond memories. To any worldpackers thinking of applying, I cannot recommend this project enough!

The overall experience was good. It introduces you to the world of hosting, DIY projects, like fixing fences, even building a rock wall. There's also a gardening section where you can plant things and work on the raised vegetable beds, remove weeds, etc. Some areas for improvement include being clearer about work and rest times for both parties. Unfortunately, our stay was suddenly cut short due to personal matters on the host's side. We sincerely hope their situation has improved. We feel that, while the experience could have been better with more fluid communication, we still learnt a lot.

Ah Juan, with tasks written up and talked through, I thought things were clear - but there’s always room to improve. I acknowledge your effort on the DIY & painting tasks, though clearly wasn’t the right fit.
I hope you felt the benefit of 4 full days & 2 afternoons off, the many outings, and under 50 work hours across the 2 weeks.
As Flor shared, when we’re carrying heavier things, it’s hard to see what’s around. I hope you’re meeting those truths, and with care. Wishing you all the best.
