The experience

A couple of years ago, I moved into an old farmhouse with a converted steading, currently used as holiday lets but gradually evolving into a retreat and healing space. While the house is fully livable with modern appliances, there’s still plenty to do in terms of upkeep, maintenance, and improvements.

Program Details

I'm looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with various tasks around the property. Whether you love working outdoors or have a talent for DIY, your help will make a big difference!

What you'll be doing:
Cottage Turnarounds: Assist with cleaning and preparing our cottages for new guests, ensuring they’re welcoming and comfortable.
Gardening: Help maintain our beautiful gardens and keep the grounds tidy.
General DIY: Lend a hand with light DIY projects, from small repairs and improvements to enhance the space.

What you’ll gain:
Hands-on experience in hospitality, gardening and property maintenance.
The opportunity to be part of a small friendly and supportive team.
Stunning views, fresh air, and a peaceful environment.

My place is ideally suited to someone who is looking for a peaceful retreat, or a quiet space to work remotely while contributing to a supportive environment.

If you’re looking to get involved in a rewarding and hands-on volunteer opportunity, I’d love to hear from you!

Activities & Shift

Our typical working day is from 09:30 to 15:30, with an hour break for lunch. However, I’m flexible with this schedule as long as we manage to complete the tasks that need done while there are no guests on-site and the cottages are being turned around. Some tasks can be done earlier if the weather permits, or later if that suits you better.

There are routine items, such as preparing the cottages, while other tasks may vary from day to day. Sometimes you may work independently, or alongside me, depending on the task at hand.

We make sure we take full days off each week, and also trips out. Moray has an abundance of delights and places to explore.

Rules

My place is a healing and nurturing space. I rarely drink alcohol, nor do I smoke. While the occasional glass of wine is available, it’s not a regular or customary practice here, in case that’s something you're specifically looking for.

If you’re seeking personal space for reflection, or wish to attune deeply and find nourishment and healing, my place could be the perfect fit. Please bring an open heart!
