Program Details
This is our home and we both work from home, in an office in the house.
When we can we will try and work with you on the garden as many hands make light work!
The garden is just untidy and unruly and we need help getting on top of it. We also have some wood needing chopped into logs.
We would be happy if you could work to help us and we'll do our best to help you get what you want out of your time on the edge of the Highlands. Our home is walking distance to great bus links, the train station and 1hr to Glasgow or Edinburgh airports.
From our house are great hiking and running trails out into forests and by the stunning River Tay.
Activities & Shift
We'd suggest we agree a schedule that works for you and for us - perhaps 3 hours x 5 days a week, but we can be flexible to fit around what you hope to achieve in your time in our area.
We can assist with our car and trailer when it comes to getting rid of garden rubbish and Pieter can be involved if any machinery needs used.
We are a 15minute walk into the town centre of Perth so if you want to volunteer for local charities while with us then it's easy to do.
In the spring and summer months there is loads of daylight in Scotland, so if you want to work in the garden in the early morning or the evening - it's all possible!
Rules
This is our home and we're inviting you right into it! Our 3 kids come and go as they are are all university age and pop home from time to time, and sometimes for longer periods over the summer. We will treat you as part of the family and have had a number of international students stay with us over the years. In return we just ask that you are open to the concept of family life.
Buy in your own supplies for breakfast and lunch. We will provide up to 5 evening meals a week. Those meals we suggest we eat together so we can chat and be sociable. Maybe you'd like to prepare a meal for us one of those 5 nights? introduce us to your food and culture? We'd love it!
Two nights a week (probably the weekend) we'll do our own thing for evening meals.
We often have a dog staying and we have a very elderly tortoise - hopefully you will enjoy them too!
No smoking in the house is the only hard and fast rule.
