The experience

What you offer

32 hours of help per week

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.


What you get

1 day off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Basic Internet Access: Basic speed internet for you to work remotely


Requirements

Beginner Spanish and Beginner English

Between 18 and 80 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Program Details

'Akumal' is Mayan meaning “Home of the Turtles”. Out of the 7 different species, both the Loggerhead and Green Sea Turtle nest on the beaches of Aventuras Akumal, which conveniently is the home of SAVE, A.C.


Activities & Shift

Sea turtle monitoring is carried out under SEMARNAT regulations.
