I had a great time in Mysen. Work was light and flexible. The place is huge, a little chaotic but also lively. Helene was communicative, kind and so were others. Thank you for this opportunity.

Helene is a spectacular woman, very kind and respectful, communicative and very funny, she is sensitive, always trying to make sure that we are all very well, very good at teaching what we do not know, and she has patience Golden, sharing this time with her was wonderful, as was the case with each of the fellow volunteers. God willing, I can return. I learned a lot, met a lot, and had a blast.

This opportunity left a wonderful impact on my life, as I was surrounded by the kindness of Helene and her parents. I truly enjoyed my time here, especially painting the walls and the fence. The experience was both meaningful and joyful. The host paid close attention to cleanliness and even provided gloves for working, which made everything safe and comfortable. Highly recommended for anyone looking to volunteer in Norway and immerse themselves in genuine kindness and happiness while being overseas.

I've been in Mysen with my girlfriend for a week and it was overall a good experience. Helene has been a welcoming host, always willing to help and to chat and very flexible with everyone's schedule. The work is not much but can be sometimes demanding, also be prepared to get your hands dirty. The place is a bit in the middle of nowhere, there is not much to do or to see, but you can go visit Oslo (Helene can even host you in her house there)

I had a great time in Mysen ! The room I was staying in was so comfy, and many food items are provided. The tasks are easy to understand and can vary a lot (just prepare to get your clothes dirty). Helen is very flexible regarding the hours of work, and days off. She also kindly let us sleep in Oslo for free :)

My experience in Norway was great. I spent two weeks with Helene, the work was simple and enjoyable – painting, cleaning and some gardening. Helene was very kind and flexible, letting us plan our schedule, so we sometimes worked longer hours to enjoy an extra free day for exploring. She even offered us to stay at her house in Oslo, such a generous gesture. Accommodation was basic but fine for two weeks, and food required some creativity but we never went hungry. Overall, a wonderful experience to discover Norway in a different way – just keep in mind it's volunteering, not a five-star stay.

Here's some possible helpful information. The hours are extremely flexible-you just need to complete your daily work. The tasks are often done in pairs or a group and are never boring: I cleaned walls, painted, sanded a bench, and tidied up the garden. Helene handles the grocery shopping, volunteers cook and wash the dishes. The rooms are all single. Helene is an amazing host: always very helpful, kind, courteous, and incredibly friendly. It's impossible not to love her! It was a wonderful first trip with Worldpackers. Fun tasks and a great place to socialize. Highly recommend.

I would recommend coming here to help. Helene is very kind, the work is easy, and you can choose when to start your day. I mostly painted the house and windows, and with up to 18 volunteers there's always someone to hang out with, so being social helps! You cook in a shared kitchen with basics provided, and often meals are shared since the kitchen is the heart of the house. Evenings meant movies or cards and start late, so it's perfect if you are a night owl. Accommodation ranges in privacy (sometimes curtain for door). I stayed 2 weeks, but the people quickly grew close to my heart.♡

Helen was such a kind, flexible, and fun person! She actively communicated with the volunteers and always made sure we could interact together. The work tasks were easy to understand, and the working hours were very flexible. Helen is very creative, and her ideas about the future of this house were fascinating. I also found her stories about Norwegian society and her past travels incredibly interesting, and I learned so much from them. The room was clean and offered plenty of privacy, and all the other volunteers were wonderful people, making it a great cultural exchange experience!
