The experience

We are a new Hostel in the beautiful city of Sucre - we literally opened on the 1st of april 2025! This has been a long dream coming and it finally happened!

We want volunteers to support our staff in developing activities for the guests, organize events and help out our receptionists with bar tasks. At the same time, they can learn about Bolivian culture and live in the center of one of the most vibrant (and safe) cities in Latin America.

What you offer

20 hours of help per week

Party Promoter: Help organise and promote parties and social activities.

Bartending: Make and serve drinks and help maintain the beverages inventory.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Requirements

Intermediate Spanish or Intermediate English

Between 18 and 40 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Program Details

Our Hostel is brand new but already became a hit in Sucre - all our staff is local to Sucre but we need volunteers to help us create an amazing vibe and help out our staff when needed :)

Our slogan is "HOLIS, your home in Bolivia", and that's precisely what we want to offer our guests - a cozy and fun place to experience the best Bolivia has to offer! We are not a party hostel but we do want to create a social vibe to bring travelers together!

Activities & Shift

We run weekly activities such as Trivia nights, karaoke hangouts or beer pong and we need your help to run this! We also ask each volunteer to organize a new event ( if you have a cool idea and want to do it)!

The activities will be manly in the afternoon and the main volunteer helping schedule will be from around 5 pm till 10 pm (times where the bar is busy and we have happy hour) :) There's times where the bar is really quiet and you can use your helping shift time to cook and have dinner or a drink at the hostel with your friends or guests so the program is very flexible but we do ask you to be a support for our staff member on shift during the bar hours so if it gets busy, we expect you to help out during that period :)

Bar experience is a plus as you will be helping our receptionists with the bar of the hostel! but if you are pro active and learn fast - you ll also be a good fit !! If you are a sociable person, easy to get along with multiple people with different backgrounds and you re interested in being part of our project- write us!

As part of the volunteering program, we also ask you to help us with content for our social media platforms - nothing professional just remember to film or photograph the activities with your phone!
