The experience

We are looking for 2 people to join our team for up to 6 weeks. You will be assisting with a special creative project creating 'Lanterns' for the 'Te Ara o Matariki Light Trail' event to be held later in June 2025. You will also assist with creating content for our social media accounts, such as videos and reels for Instagram, Facebook and Youtube.


What you offer

Program Details

We are a small team who work just 3 days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.

We are a dedicated team who care passionately about Community, Culture and the Environment. We expect applicants to feel and care the same way about these things and to also love nature and the outdoors.

We treat everybody with care and respect no matter what, and we will make sure you have a comfortable stay here.

You will also assist with morning duties such related to our animals.


Activities & Shift

A typical day starts around 8.30am with animal duties. You will also work with our team Tuesday to Thursday who arrive for work between 8am and 9am.

DAILY DUTIES: You will be responsible for feeding the chooks, ducks and cat every morning. You will also be responsible for collecting, washing, drying and packing eggs from the chook house every morning as well. Cleaning their areas is once or twice a week.

LANTERN CREATION WORKSHOPS: You will be helping to prepare materials and resources for the lantern workshops and also supervising and assisting workshop participants. You will also assist with clearing up after each workshop.

CONTEN CREATION: This can be anytime capturing interesting moments throughout the day. There will be ample opportunity during the varous activities that take place at the farm.


Rules

No illegal substances allowed. No excessive consumption of alchohol allowed. No cigarette smoking or vaping anywhere on the property allowed.

You may have a small social gathering of friends or family outside of working hours but your guests are to leave the farm by 9pm. Dogs must be on a leash at all times.
