Hostel Assistant in the scenic NW of Ireland
The experience
Our hostel is a non-profit charity looking for general help setting up the hostel for a new visitor season, maintaining the building by keeping it clean and comfortable for our guests. Greeting late arriving guests. Housekeeping (making beds), cleaning (rooms, bathrooms, kitchens), light maintenance tasks such as painting, yard work, cutting grass, cleaning drains, skills like carpentry/plumbing a plus.
What you offer
15 hours of help per week
Painting & Decorating:
Help with painting or decorating the property facilities.
Building & Repairing:
Help with a wide range of repairs or building.
What you get
2 days off per week
Shared Dorm:
You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.
Use our equipped kitchen:
Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Fast Internet Access:
High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Program Details
We are looking for individuals who want to experience the beauty of the local area and learning about the rich culture. In exchange for accommodation, you will work 15 hours/week. Mostly mornings/early days to help turnover the rooms. hours/days are likely flexible. There is fibre broadband so people can work remotely outside of assigned tasks. It is best to have transport but if not, a local bus services the village to the nearest large town about 45 minutes away. There is a small shop in the petrol station in town though.
Activities & Shift
Housekeeping - making beds, laundry, hoovering, cleaning rooms, bathrooms, showers, kitchen.
Greeting late arriving guests.
Light maintenance tasks such as painting, yard work, cutting grass, cleaning drains,
skills like carpentry/plumbing a plus.
Marketing, Social Media experience a plus.
Rules
Volunteers must have a visa to work in Ireland. If not EU citizen - must have an EU working visa.
You should be comfortable in a shared living environment with other volunteers, and guests. Respectful. Clean up after yourself - washing dishes etc. Trustworthy. Independent. No drugs or illicit behaviour.
