I’m a mom living in Medellín with my 10-year-old daughter and our cat. I’m seeking a woman who loves animals, speaks English, and can drive a manual car to share my home. You’ll have a private room, shared groceries, and a family environment. I need occasional help with my daughter, weekend exploration plans, and mutual support. What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Housekeeping: Help with changing the bed linens and general housekeeping.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Child Care: Caring for, playing with, and spending time with children.

Cooking: Choose the menu, pick ingredients and cook delicious dishes.

What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Fast Internet Access: High-speed internet for you to work remotely

Dedicated Workspace: Specific space for you to work remotely

Program Details

I am a 31-year-old mom living in Medellín with my 9-year-old daughter and our 13-year-old cat named Princesa. I’m looking for a FEMALE volunteer who loves animals, speaks English, and can drive a manual car to share my home in Belén, a quiet and safe area, located 15 minutes from El Poblado. You will have a private room with a bathroom, and we will share the groceries.

The ideal candidate is someone organized, clean (preferably someone who loves order and clean like me), friendly, understanding, and communicative. It’s important that you are proactive, disciplined, healthy, and enjoy exercising, as I’m looking for a companion who can motivate me in my routine. I also expect this person to be willing to stay for at least 3 to 6 months to provide stability and trust in caring for my daughter.

This is not a formal job. I want you to feel like part of my family, someone with whom we can support each other in our daily lives.

Activities & Shift

I would appreciate your help occasionally getting my daughter ready in the mornings, taking her to school sometimes (although they've been using the school bus lately), and going to the gym together if you're free. You can also sometimes pick her up in the afternoon and take her to extracurricular activities if she has any (I sometimes take her skating twice a week). I'll also need help with arts and crafts, homework support, routines, and playing together. Additionally, it's important to keep the house clean and organized.

My daughter is at school from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., so you'll have free time. If you work from home, you're welcome to help. If you don't work, we can spend a lot of time together. We can exercise together. We'll do many of the activities and chores together, unless my work commitments prevent me from doing so, in which case I'll need your support.

Rules

Order and cleanliness: you must be a person who is clean and organized because I am obsessed with everything clean and everything in its place. Keeping the house organized is key.

No unapproved visitors: No one can enter the apartment without my knowledge and permission.

Childcare: In my absence, I expect you to care for my daughter lovingly and responsibly.

Travel and schedules: If you need to travel or leave for a few days, we can coordinate it. Likewise, if I travel, you can stay at home to take care of my cat.

Coexistence: Speaking English at home is a must, as it’s the language we use. I also want you to have an open and positive attitude so we can get along and resolve any issues through respectful communication.
