Volunteering at the lodge was one of the best experiences, one that will forever be held close to my heart. The Ramsey family are lovely and welcoming, though they are all quite busy which provides sufficient independent time. The property itself and the location are immaculate, it feels like a fairy tale. The wildlife is equally as breathtaking, with frequent sightings of beavers! As someone with an ecological background my tasks were tailored to include some survey work which could not have worked out better for me and turned out to be one of my highlights! I highly recommend volunteering here!

The experience was amazing. I stayed for a week with my wife, and it was one of the best experiences we've had. The whole family was very kind, and it was truly inspiring to hear them talk about their projects and see how dedicated they are to their work. the lodge is also a beautiful place, where you have the chance to be surrounded by nature. The other volunteers were very friendly and helped us a lot. We're really grateful for the opportunity and would love to return one day

Volunteered at the lodge for a week and it was an amazing experience! The work is varied and rewarding, the Ramsay family is incredibly welcoming, kind and respectful of work hours. The room was super comfortable and well-equipped. The beautiful house, peaceful woodland and all the fauna around made every day special. We enjoyed great conversations, delicious meals, and little adventures in the area. Bring waterproof clothes and insect repellent! This place truly feels like being part of something meaningful. We hope to visit again one day, and recommended this experience to everyone 💚

My partner Michael and I had a great experience at the lodge. Sophie, Louise and Paul were lovely hosts. We also loved meeting Sandra and Stuart who work there, they were really lovely and helped us out a lot. We enjoyed our tasks and were happy to be contributing to a worthwhile cause. It was fascinating to learn about the rewilding project and learn more about the beavers and ponies. We would recommend this experience to others, particularly those who have a passion for the environment and contributing to change.

Kate and Michael were the most incredible help. They were the perfect fit for the tasks (as well as being massively overqualified)! In particular, they carried out a huge amount of fence removal, which has been transformative for us, allowing animals to move more freely across our rewilding project. I really enjoyed hearing about the state of nature, farming and ecological regulation in Australia. They are both really easy going, personable, hard working and highly efficient. Sophie

Had an enjoyable time here with the Ramsay's. Lots of time to spend doing what you want and they're happy to drop you off in nearby towns to get buses and such/go shopping. Would volunteer again!

Avalon was brilliant. Great paint work (properly trained). Really adaptable and hard working and happy with all her tasks (a lot of different things were thrown at her), good fun with the resident 6 year old! Also has a great sense of humour! Hope to see you again, Avalon! Sophie

Never expected this to be such an unforgettable week. The whole family were incredibly kind and responsible. From transportation arrangements to grocery shopping, work planning, and accommodation, they took care of everything so well. The work was reasonable and flexible, I really enjoyed contributing in ways I could in such a beautiful environment, especially seeing the family's deep commitment to environmental rewild and responsible land use. Sophie's family and other volunteers are incredibly friendly, they bought a sense of warmth and made me feel at home. I truly hope to see them all again

I was lucky to stay here over the New Year holidays. For the first time in my life, I was able to experience a Western Christmas and New Year's Eve party. They were truly wonderful experiences. I mainly did housekeeping and invasive plant removal. The host family and staff are all very nice. Paul, the owner of the castle, is a gentleman. Sophie checked me out frequently. Louise was very flexible, easy to talk to, and easy to work with. I'm grateful to all the people. If you're looking to live in the Scottish countryside, I definitely recommend this place.

Had a reasonable time, it was a very relaxed environment. I had lots of different tasks to do, so i didn't get bored. was definitely a watched area, with media teams and drones about, kind of like a safari park. The only downside was poor communication ,which led to a complication involving a bike. Also i was not prepared for the gardening work, which was surprising, but I did end up with a lot of bites from midgey flies. My advice is repellent and know your limits when it comes to the work, as you are working in places like dense forests.
