Embark on a captivating journey into the world of wildlife filming with our immersive program. Led by experienced professionals from Viet Endangered Narratives, volunteers will gain invaluable insights and hands-on experience in capturing the beauty and significance of Vietnam's diverse wildlife.

If you decide to stay more than 2 weeks, the fee for each additional week is 200$/week

Program Details
Program Overview
This 2-week immersive filming experience trains volunteers to become conservation storytellers while raising awareness about wildlife education and biodiversity.
Volunteers will learn:
- Wildlife Filming & Conservation Storytelling: Ethical filming, conservation messaging, and responsible engagement.
- Hands-on Field Experience: Filming four key wildlife groups:
a) Primate & Terrestrial Mammals: Documenting species like douc langurs
and macaques.
b) Insects & Small Creatures: Capturing macro shots of diverse insects.
c) Marine Life: Filming coral reefs, seagrass, and ocean biodiversity.
d) Birds: Documenting bird behaviors and flight patterns.
- Editing & Post-Production: Creating a short conservation documentary to be
shared on Danang’s Biodiversity Data Page.
Program Schedule:
Week 1: Orientation & Field Training
Day 1: Arrival and welcome dinner
Day 2: Orientation, safety guidelines, theory on wildlife filmmaking and biodiversity threats, and field trip to project destinations.
Day 3-6: Filming techniques, including camera training and documenting wildlife behavior at Son Tra Nature Reserve
Week 2: Independent Filming & Documentary Production
Day 7-9: Project development and field scouting
Day 10-12: Independent filming at wildlife hotspots with mentor support
Day 13-14: Editing, final film screening, and certification ceremony
By the end, volunteers will have produced a wildlife short film contributing to local education and conservation awareness.
Activities & Shift
We offer city tours (Da Nang; Hoi An) for volunteers to explore the local culture in combination with a first field trip to get to know the area.
Rules
House rules:
The use of illegal drugs or excessive use of alcohol and smoking is strictly forbidden.
Do not play with the extinguishers or smoke alarms! They are there for your safety.
Tidy up after yourself.
Keep the noise at an appropriate level.
Ensure lights and appliances are switched off when not in use.
Take care not to damage or lose any property in the common areas of the house.
Do not take friends or relatives to the shared house without obtaining permission from the host.
