As a new WP member, I couldn't have asked for a better first experience! Kelsey & Stephan have been amazing and extremely welcoming from the moment we met; as well as everyone else in the community. As for the work itself, tasks are varied & clearly communicated & the 4-hours daily workload can be quite flexible. During my time off, I had the chance to enjoy yoga, walks on the lake, connect with the beautiful nature, meet locals, enjoy live music as well as my first ever Midsommar. This has truly been an amazing experience and I would highly recommend to fellow WPs. Tack igen för allt :)

Giusy has been an incredible help to us during our high season. Thanks to her we were able to offer a higher standard to all our guests with her care and attention to details. She is a pleasure to work with, caring, compassionate and understanding. She is very aware and responsible and makes friends with everyone. We are so grateful to have been the ones to receive her and wish her so much love on the next steps in her life and journey! She is always welcome back. Lots of love from us all

This was one of the best volunteering experience that I ever had. It was the perfect opportunity to explore the Swedish countryside. The nature around is amazing with its forests, lakes, islands and what not, there's so much to explore. The work was usually outside, mostly physical - so challenging but manageable. I got to learn a lot about forest gardening and got to try new skills like wood chopping, grass cutting etc. Kelsey and the whole village is very kind, generous and welcoming that it felt like home. It's definitely a place that I would love to go back to:)

I've spend the last two weeks in this place and let me tell you,it was truly amazing. From the people to the work we did, I could not imagine a better first experience. Kelsey, who is responsible for volunteers was so kind and really appreciated everything we did. Plus her yoga sessions were Medizin for my body, after it I could feel the gratefulness vibrating in my body. Everyone i met there was so open and kind, i felt welcomed and safe. This experience will nurture your inner child and from jumping in the lake to running and dancing with other wounderful volunteers you will have it all <3

Chantel is literally a ray of sunshine... her smile and laugh is heartwarming and she is an absolute pleasure to be around. We enjoyed her stay so much, she showed up exactly when we needed her and helped feed the team of volunteers when our cook had to leave early. She immediately fit in with the volunteer group we had going and shared her creativity whenever there was the chance. We are looking forward to welcoming her back!

My experience in the Center absolutely exceeded my expectations. Me and my friend stayed for month and enjoyed every second of it. Everyone welcomed us with open arms/hearts and saying goodbye wasn't easy at all. We worked as dream team of 5 volunteers in garden for 4,5h per day (weekends off) and helped around the house with anything was needed. Cutting wood/grass, gardening, cleaning property and much more. We got a chance to join yoga classes, do many trips around the area and have fun during and outside of working hours. I 100% recommend this experience, thank you for everything <3

It was a really nice experience. As a retreat, I can only recommend this place. the community is amazing, everyone is nice, and they care for each other and for you. the work can be hard sometimes (outside work, be prepared), but you can easily make it fun with music and other volunteers! they also care for your well being so you only do what you can do without hurting yourself. the nature around is pretty amazing as well. you will not regret!

Karine brings a warmth and care that we felt immediately and was the welcome of the rest of the volunteers for our May team. It turned out to be the best volunteer group we have had because of their incredible attitude, working together and nourishing each other, being capable and independent and really going above and beyond in the tasks. Thinking ahead and cleaning up after themselves. After the first task i gave Karine i knew i could easily trust and rely on her to take care and do a great job. She made a huge difference with her time here and her energy given has been a real gift to us!

The best 2 weeks I've ever had. The place is magical and the people there are just great. Everyone welcomed me straight away and made me feel like at home. I worked independently and could decide individually when I wanted to start. It was all very organised and had enough time for myself. I would recommend everyone to go there!!

I stayed in this village called Stjärnsund for 2 weeks. It's a small peaceful village where people live with beautiful nature. Walking literally took three minutes to get to a forest, which refreshed my soul and body. During my stay, I painted and repaired doors, cleaned the building, and gave other general assistance as needed. Working hour was very flexible. You are able to think independently and work flexibly. People here were so nice, which was the best part of my stay. I will definitely come back here!

I didn't have any luck with my first host. Almost everyone was correct in their treatment but I felt alone. There wasn't much work to do, I moved a door and organized the storage. The days were long and a little boring. No one except Johannes, a great person, approached me and invited me to get to know the place a little. In general they expect you to integrate yourself and ask everything. I have something to say regarding the center's director, Stephan. I didn't like his behavior towards me, I felt harassed and mistreated. Other boys warned me that he was not a pleasant person to deal

Juan, unfortunately, had great difficulties communicating with all of us here. We've learned some valuable things from this experience however which hopefully will allow us to avoid the misunderstandings that occurred in future.

It turned out that Juan had gotten the impression that this was a job, and that we were here to provide food money and accommodation in return. This led to an unfortunate situation where, instead of him coming and showing interest in our project, he was quite demanding regarding his accommodation from the very start and started to ask for more money than what we had agreed.

It soon became clear that his English is not very good so we arranged for a couple of Spanish-speaking community members to work with him instead. That seemed to go well for a while.

However he then decided, without checking with us, to stay until Christmas. He was not at all happy when we pointed out that he had not discussed this with us first. To top it off he had simply not understood some comments that had been made in a meeting that had absolutely nothing to do with him and which he had interpreted as criticism.

Instead of coming to us and sorting it out he said nothing and then, after four days, had an emotional outburst. He did seem to understand after detailed explanation of what was said, that he had created a drama based in his own lack of English but decided to leave shortly after that. He then left the job that he started half done despite having promised to finish it.

This is the first time we have had an experience like this (and we've had hundreds of volunteers over the years). We'll make very sure in future that our volunteers have sufficient language skills to communicate with us and that they understand that is a volunteer position, not a job.

We wish Juan the best however.
