Program Details
We are looking for responsible, punctual, and self-motivated volunteers to join our close-knit team of just four people. It’s important that we respect and support each other as we work together.
Every two weeks, we will buy basic food items (like rice, kimchi, milk, cereal, bread, etc.) for you within a set budget. (Any additional ingredients or items you need will be your own responsibility.) You’ll then prepare your own meals using the shared kitchen. Additionally, you’ll have access to a washing machine and dryer, all free of charge.
Our guesthouse has a café with fast Wi-Fi and a great space for work. Additionally, you can enjoy one free drink every day (choices include Americano, tea bags, or iced tea).
If you’re interested in learning more about Korean culture or the Korean language, we would love to hear from you!
Activities & Shift
You will work 4 hours a day (11 AM - 3 PM), 5 days a week, totaling 20 hours, with 2 days off each week. (Tasks are usually completed within 3 hours.) The rest of the time is yours to enjoy.
Hostel 1 and 3 are just a 1-minute walk apart. While you’ll be helping out at both locations, you’ll only be assigned to one hostel per day.
Your tasks include:
- Helping guests when needed
- Assisting guests with check-out
- Cleaning the bathrooms
- Changing bed linens
- Vacuuming and mopping the floors
- Wiping tables and restocking towels and toilet paper
- Taking care of shared spaces: rooftop, stairs, hallway, kitchen, entrance, café, washing and organizing towels, recycling, etc.
Rules
We are currently only accepting female volunteers due to shared dormitory accommodations.
Your days off are initially assigned based on the available slots when you first arrive, usually on the days not already taken by other volunteers. If you need to change your days off later, you can coordinate directly with other volunteers to switch. However, you must inform us at least 2 days in advance if you make any changes, as this is necessary to fix the schedule.
Also, we may ask you to adjust your day off if needed (according to the cleaning schedule).
We’ll provide detailed guidelines when you join, but feel free to message us anytime if you have any questions.
