Join our team to document daily life, community projects, and sustainability efforts through photography and social media. Tasks include capturing photos/videos, creating content, and editing for platforms like Instagram. Work up to 20 hours/week, with mornings ideal for fieldwork and afternoons for editing. Bring your own equipment, and help us tell impactful stories that inspire change and attract support!

Program Details
Discover the art of storytelling and immerse yourself in the cultural richness of northern Namibia through photography and social media at Ongula. You'll capture moments from our immersive tourism experiences, including traditional homestead visits, crafting workshops, and cultural performances. Volunteers will create impactful visual content that promotes our mission, sharing the beauty of rural life while highlighting sustainability and community empowerment.
Expect to work early mornings capturing activities in optimal light and spend afternoons editing and crafting narratives. Volunteers also participate in meaningful exchanges, documenting our Skills Academy and Indigenous Knowledge Centre. Your efforts will help attract like-minded travelers and amplify the positive impact of Ongula’s initiatives.

Activities & Shift
Engage with guests during dinner service and whilst on tours. Ensure that quality photos and videos are taken to be harnessed on Social Media Platforms, our website and various booking platforms.
Rules
Work Hours: Volunteers work early mornings and late evenings to avoid heat and reduce evaporation, up to 30 hours per week.
Cultural Respect: Volunteers must respect local customs and traditions.
Sustainability: Follow eco-friendly practices, such as water conservation and waste management.
Health and Safety: Wear proper attire (e.g., hats, gloves, closed-toe shoes) and follow safety guidelines.
Responsible Alcohol Use: Drinking is permitted in the evenings at the bar but not during work hours.
Animal Welfare: Treat animals with care and follow feeding or handling instructions.
Accommodation Etiquette: Keep living spaces tidy and respect quiet hours.
