The experience
We are looking for self reliant and motivated individuals to help us care for our 200 rescued cats and dogs. Animal care volunteers main responsibilities will be dog walking and socializing with the animals at our shelter.
What you offer

Animal Care:
Help look after and take care of animals.

Private Room:
You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Free Laundry:
You can use our laundry room freely.
Bikes at your disposal:
You can use our bikes any time you want.
Pick Up:
We will pick you up when you arrive, and take you to our property.
Use our equipped kitchen:
Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.
Fast Internet Access:
High-speed internet for you to work remotely
Requirements
Beginner English or Beginner Japanese
Over 18 years old
Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa
Program Details
Volunteers start shelter work around 10am and be there until the daily activities are completed. The closing time depends on the number of volunteers on any given day but we normally finish up around 3pm.
We ask long-term volunteers to work at the shelter 5 days a week, with two days off. Once you arrive, Please arrange with the other volunteers which days you will take off, so we have volunteer rotation.
If you would like more days off to travel, please let us know and we can make arrangements.
Activities & Shift
Volunteers will be responsible for the upkeep of the accommodations. You are expected to clean up after yourself by washing dishes you dirty, keeping your living area organized and being respectful of shared bathroom.
*Please help us save water and electricity.
Food: We do not provide meals/food but if we receive donations there may be some basic staples such as rice, noodles, instant food volunteers can help themselves to.
Transportation:
To/From the shelter: Shelter staff/volunteer can pick you up from the volunteer accommodations.
To volunteer accommodation upon arrival in Tokushima: If you give us your schedule in advance, shelter staff/volunteer can pick you up at Tokushima station.
