During my two and a half months stay at the farm, I could not only learn a lot about the animals and how to take care of them, but also about Ireland, self-confidence, stepping out of my comfort zone, and the impact of working in nature on body and soul. There is always something happening, it never gets boring, and you always have something to laugh about. It's fun to spend time with the family, and they really want you to have the best time. I developed so much during this stay and would recommend everyone to take this chance too.

Katia and her family are truly wonderful people, and their relationships are built on sincerity and openness. They do everything they can to make you feel welcome and at home. I highly recommend this place to anyone who loves animals, enjoys the countryside and wants to learn what farm work is really like. I never had farm or horse experience before and is not a problem! They were really patient and supportive while I was learning this new tasks. During your stay you will be definitely a part of the family and is a lot of fun. I'm really grateful to Katia and here family for this experience!

My stay at the farm was such a great experience. Everyone is so kind, welcoming, and easy to be around, it truly is a home away from home. From dinners in front of the tv, going on trips to the most stunning beaches and going on hacks. There is always something going on so you never get bored. The work is physical but fun, and you get to spend all your time with animals, which makes it totally worth it. I've learned so much about horses and how to take care of all the animals. I'm so thankful for my time here and I 100% recommend this experience!

I loved my third stay at the Barley jill the farm. The horses, the food, the game nights, the trips - everything was just amazing. We had a storm over over weekend and the family made sure to tell us everything that we needed to know in order for us to be prepared. The work was still tiring at times, but with the right company it's always a good time regardless. Even tho I've been there a few times now, the family always makes an effort to bring me to new, stunning places. It definitely never gets boring, there is always someone around to talk to and have a great time with! See you soon:)

My second stay with Katja and her family was as amazing as the first one. I got to ride as much as i wanted to, the meals were amazing and the company even better! The work was still very manageable and during our free time I got to see more new places around the area. The family experienced a sudden loss while my stay, but even in that time they made sure that we felt comfortable. I think that says a lot about their kindess. I can't wait to come back again!

My stay with Katja and her family was amazing and memorable! The family made me feel welcome from the moment I entered their home, and did a really good job of showing me around the area and helping me plan trips on my days off. The work took a little getting used to, but was very manageable. The animals were a big bonus, always looking for cuddles and making the whole experience special. I already miss this place, the family, the animals, home cooked dinners and even cleaning out the farm. I'm really grateful for how wholeheartedly I was welcomed and 100% recommend this experience :)

My second stay with katja and her family was just as amazing as my first one. I was welcomed back with open arms and i had the best time. The work was a bit different than during the summer, we had to feed the horses and muck out their the farm. It's a bit tiring at first but once you get used to it it's super easy. The whole family makes such an effort to make your stay as fun as possible. I saw beautiful new places, went on many breathtaking hacks, and loved the family game nights. i truly found a second home here, and i couldn't be more happy about it. i definitely will be back!!

My time at the farm was so much fun. I got to spend time with the kindest and most beautiful animals in breathtaking nature. The family taught me a lot about animals and of course about the irish culture. I was warmly welcomed into the family and they made sure that my stay here would be as pleasant as it could. They took me in many trips around Ireland and i got to see so many beautiful places that I could only dream of before. After a month of staying here I could say I have found my second home and will most certainly come back again.

I had the best time staying with Katja and her family. Everyone was incredibly welcoming and kind, making you feel like you are part of the family. From home cooked dinners in front of the TV, game nights, trips to the beach or pubs to hacking with the incredible horses, they make sure you have the best time. On the weekends you have time to visit other places and they help you with planning. The work is clearly structured and fun, feeding the animals and mucking out. All of the animals are super cute and cuddly. If you love animals and want to experience Ireland this is the place for you!

Katja and the rest of the family are amazing people—always welcoming, helpful, and willing to do anything to make you feel at home. The work is easy and fun: feeding the animals and cleaning the farm. You'll be taking care of goats, pigs, and horses—all incredibly sweet! On your days off and during your free time, they'll help you find wonderful places to visit. There's never a dull moment in the house—between dinners watching TV together and evenings spent playing games, you won't get bored.
