Overall, my friend and I really have a positive impression of the town, the hostel and the owners! We had a good time and enjoyed the beachvibes! We felt very welcome and after some time, we got to know all the people, which gives you a feeling of community.

We had a really great experience with volunteering in the hostel! El Gigante is the most charming and relaxed little surf town with a lot of opportunities to meet people and do fun things. If you volunteer here, you end up in a closely knitted group and a fun community where everyone knows each other. The work was the hostel and mainly consisted out of reception work, sometimes cleaning a room, renting surfboards & motorcycles and socialising with the lovely guests. The schedule was also very flexible, for example when you want to take spanish classes or go on a trip. Thank you Dan and Hernan!

My stay in the hostel was a great experience. The tasks we had to do were very manageable and understandable. The work schedule was also flexible, which I enjoyed. I had the best time with the other volunteers and Hernan. The location of the hostel was great, because it was very close to the beach and in the center of the town. I also really liked all the events going on in town like beerpong- or trivianight. Overall I would recommend going there. Thank you.

I loved the volunteering experience at the hostel. The work wasn't difficult at all and I had a lot of free time which I spend hanging out with the other volunteers, doing day trips or just relaxing at the beach. There were also different events going on in town every day like beach clean-ups, trivianight or beerpong. So this place is great for meeting other volunteers, relaxing and partying at the same time. Hernan was a great and funny host, who always ensured that we have a good time and lots of fun. I'm really grateful for this wonderful experience at the hostel. Thank you so much.

I absolutely loved my time at the hostel. The work was really easy. The host made me feel welcomed right from the beginning. I especially loved how small the town was and that there were so many social events. I had a great time with the other volunteers. The beach is beautiful, you can also get surf lessons from the best surf teacher. I strongly recommend this experience if you want to live somewhere the hostel and get to know the local life. El Gigante is stunning<3

I had so much fun at the hostel. I surfed every day and all the volunteers were super fun to hangout with. There are events in town and we organized groups to go to parties outside of Gigante. It is a quiet town with a slower pace of life which really helped me relax. On my days off I did some day trips to other places like Rivas. Hernan was always super nice and responsive, and would help organize activities volunteers wanted to do. I definitely would love to come back.

I really liked my stay at the hostel, Dan and Hernan are lovely hosts and will truly make you feel at home! The working hours were very flexible and you could always discuss and move the shifts around your surf lessons or spanish lessons. I really appreciated that Dan and Hernan let me leave a bit early as we were many volunteers and our tasks weren't really that clear. It is a new hostel open to any ideas and developing fast so I hope all the best for them but yeah I just prefer more structured tasks and workschedules.
