I was supposed to stay at Chill Garrobo for two weeks. I sadly left after one week because of a weird atmosphere in the hostel. Although the tasks were very easy :) The town itself is very small and very authentic. You can use the surfboards from the hostel and go surfing in a beach very close to the hostel. I also had a great time with the other volunteers :) Nonetheless I wouldnt recommend since there was a weird vibe coming from Dan and Hernan.

I had a great time in Chill Garrobo, definitely the best part of my trip. Gigante is an amazing place: beach, sun, surfing, very lovely people, dogs and pigs 🐷
I ended up extending my stay because the tasks are easy and you get to meet lots of travelers.
The week is punctuated by village events where you can meet locals and volunteers from other hostels. 🥳
Hernan and Daniel are very friendly, funny, and helpful.
In the end, the hardest part about volunteering here is leaving 🥲

Merci beaucoup et gros bisous guys.

Overall, my friend and I really have a positive impression of the town, the hostel and the owners! We had a good time and enjoyed the beachvibes! We felt very welcome and after some time, we got to know all the people, which gives you a feeling of community.

We had a really great experience with volunteering in Chill Garrobo! El Gigante is the most charming and relaxed little surf town with a lot of opportunities to meet people and do fun things. If you volunteer here, you end up in a closely knitted group and a fun community where everyone knows each other. The work was chill and mainly consisted out of reception work, sometimes cleaning a room, renting surfboards & motorcycles and socialising with the lovely guests. The schedule was also very flexible, for example when you want to take spanish classes or go on a trip.
Thank you Dan and Hernan!

My stay in Chill Garrobo hostel was a great experience. The tasks we had to do were very manageable and understandable. The work schedule was also flexible, which I enjoyed.
I had the best time with the other volunteers and Hernan. The location of the hostel was great, because it was very close to the beach and in the center of the town. I also really liked all the events going on in town like beerpong- or trivianight. Overall I would recommend going there.
Thank you.
