Help rescued animals and stay in our farmhouse near Perth
The experience
We are a registered charity near Perth, Western Australia, on a beautiful 650ac property where we rescue and rehome all kinds of domestic animals.
Looking after 300 and more rescue animals requires a lot of helping hands, and so we love to exchange
meals and accommodation in one of our guestroom with people from all over the world who help with daily feeding, maintenance and interesting building projects like accommodation for future retreats.

Program Details
Being a charity, our work depends on help from outside, and so we started connecting with international travellers over 15 years ago, with Worldpackers since 2024, and have enjoyed sharing our way of life many times over.
Activities & Shift
We invite you to become an important part of our project by :
- helping with the morning and evening feed runs
- maintaining the animal shelters and housing (everyone here is free ranging)
- bringing in knowledge and passion for particular animals to give them extra attention
- helping with maintenance and never ending repairs of fences, aviaries, human housing and machinery
- sharing your expertise in digital marketing, fundraising and promoting charities so we can increase our output as a not-for-profit organisation
- spreading your passion for food by preparing dinner for us, which we all enjoy taking together
Rules
Our life evolves around animals, their rescue and wellbeing, and often means we are working around the clock, especially in times of animal emergencies. Therefore we need a team of people who understand and respect that work sometimes can't be defined into 5 hours a day, although we do our best to share the work equally.
Also note that our sanctuary is located rural, which means that our internet services can be patchy, our water availability is limited (we operate on two showers/week/person) and the only public transport is the train between Toodyay and Perth, 15min away, where we pick you up when you come to stay.
But on the plus side you will be greeted by serenity, away from the hustle and bustle, on a piece of land where you can't see any neighbours and the night sky is breathtaking beautiful!
