I had an amazing time volunteering at the home with Andrew. He's a fantastic host who made me feel at home from day one, easing all my first-time volunteering nerves. The place is in a stunning location surrounded by beautiful mountains, rivers, and waterfalls: perfect for those who love exploring the beauty of nature. I spent a week there, and it flew by so quick with a great balance of cooking, exploring, and enjoying nature. Andrew's hospitality, the meaningful work, and the chance to connect with such a beautiful environment made this an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend it!

I had a fantastic experience at Andrew's place and with the people there. It was my first time volunteering, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The area is stunning and perfect for exploring, with breathtaking beauty all around. I really liked the tasks Andrew assigned to me, and the food we cooked together was amazing. Overall, I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to volunteer with this project, and I would definitely recommend it!

Volunteering with Andrew and his family through Worldpackers was an experience I will never forget. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with such warmth and generosity. Andrew, his partner, and their little son Frederik made me feel like part of the family from day one. Frederik, especially, was an absolute joy to be around. His energy and curiosity made every day fun and heartwarming. For anyone considering volunteering, especially if it's your first time, I couldn't recommend Andrew and his family enough. I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity, and I hope to return someday!

I had a fantastic time staying at Andrews place for a few weeks. He is a great host. Funny and cool guy, easy and fun to work with, and creates a very chill atmosphere that you feel at home in immediately. He works with everyone and makes it fun, never goes over hours. I made some great friendships the other volunteers and with all the free time we really got to experience so much of what Slovenia has to offer. I couldn't recommend this experience enough. I would 100% return and if you are looking to connect with nature, make some meaningful connections and just relax, look no further!

I had a great time in Gabre. Most of them we did handy tasks. The working hours was like agree and the rest of the day is your time to explore the surroundings. It was 4 good weeks with super delicious food. Cheers

I had an incredible two-week stay with Andrew and his family. They are such a great bunch of people, and I felt welcomed from the moment I arrived. We had some fantastic day trips around the valley, exploring waterfalls and that amazing river—yes, the color really is that stunning! There's so much to see and do in the area that you never have to be bored The food was delicious, and I loved how we started our tasks early, allowing us to finish early and make the most of the day. What a great place to stay! I'll definitely be returning. Thank you for the wonderful memories!

100% recommend this experience! I had the best time with Andrew and his family along with many other volunteers in Soča Valley. We spent our days working, eating, and exploring the beautiful area (mostly swimming). It was a great place to take a break from traveling and relax with lots of free time and some hard work :) Thanks, hope to be back.

I recommend this experience! This is my second time here (you can find my other review). Easy 3-4h work on weekdays, and no work on weekends. The surrounding valley is breathtaking and swimming in the Soca river feels so good in summer's heat. Andrew respects the work hours and he personally participates in whatever tasks we do, and strictly stops the work on time. We didn't work more hours even when I asked to, so don't worry about being taken advantage of! He is also a stable host in providing the food and all other supplies on time. I hiked, cycled, and swam in the river A LOT.

My time with Andrew was great! He welcomed my girlfriend and I into his home and took the time to teach us new skills. Our meals were very affordable and quite delicious and we worked for the agreed upon time. I was able to learn more about concreting and gain insight not only from Andrew but fellow travellers. I am so happy I came here for two weeks! Looking forward to seeing how the paralodge comes along!

This was my boyfriend and I's first stay with World Packers and we are both greatful to say it exceeded our expectations. We were very unsure of what to expect but Andrew welcomed us into his home and taught us things about concreting, gardening and cooking. Work hours were as advertised and very fair. Andrew also accommodated our needs by allowing us to work “double days” in order to have extra time off throughout the week. This allowed us to explore not only the beautiful Soca Valley but also Lake Bled, Lake Bohinj and Venice in our time off. Thank you for an unforgettable first stay!
