My stay at the hostel was nothing short of a once in a lifetime opportunity. Located a 15 minute train ride from some of the most beautiful and underrated hikes on the planet, Štrba is a legendary pull of a hidden gem. Bears, wolves, hot springs, castles, amazing local cuisine, and more can be found nearby . The hostel is clean and pristine with a bar, and an unexpectedly great sound system. What really makes this place so special, however, is the volunteers and guests (massive shoutout to the awesome manager Lisa! In the 3 weeks I was here I made friends I will have for life. 10/10, 5⭐️

I had an amazing few weeks at Hiker's. Lisa is an incredible manager who makes everyone feel right at home. She goes out of her way to ensure that volunteers get to make the most of their time off and knows all the best hikes in the area. I had a great group of volunteers who made the work, which was already very manageable, fun. the hostel Tatras are such a beautiful area and the work was always finished early, meaning there was plenty of time to go into the mountains, explore surrounding towns, or eat at one of the local restaurants. I hope to be back in Štrba in the future!

This was my first worldpackers experience and it was perfect!! The Manager Lisa was very nice and welcoming, and she recommended a lot of hikes and places to go. The work is easy and flexible and the facilities were good. Thank you Lisa and see you soon :)

I applied with a friend of mine as partner volunteers and we had the best time possible! Lisa, our host and manager, was always super friendly and helpful and we befriended the other volunteers as well as many guests super fast. We really didn't have to do much and we could always split the work between all the volunteers and by clever organising there was never a shortage of volunteers. On busy weekends when the weather was good there was of course more to clean and tidy up (many guests), but we still had free time in the afternoons to go for a quick hike, play Uno or watch movies :)

Really nice and welcoming host. Also showed a lot of cool spots in nature and City and gave us inspiration what we could do in our freetime. Had a great stay there!

I had a great time in the Tatras. The work is easy, you can pretty much organize it how you like and you have a lot of time to do what you want. Štrba is very central and there are many amazing places I could explore across Slovakia. Special mention to Lisa, the manager, a great person who truly deserves a raise.

Had an amazing time here! The people that I met while on this trip I'll never forget. Lisa the manager is so sweet and very easy to work with. Very flexible if you want to go for a hike. We always did some activity every night with the whole volunteer group, and of course guests often joined us. The best way to describe my time here is a home away from home. Loved it and would totally recommend. Bonus the hostel is super nice, very modern and crazy comfy beds. Also the work is pretty easy just cleaning around the place.

My time at Hiker's and Sherpa's was so much fun! The work is easy and there is so much time to hike and explore the hostel, and the nature is beautiful. Lisa, the manager, and the other volunteers were all so lovely and really made the experience!

I had such an amazing time at the hostel!! Such a great first Worldpackers experience that has definitely inspired me to do more! Lisa was so welcoming and helpful and everyone I met and worked with was so fun to be around! I was so sad to leave but would highly recommend to anyone thinking of applying!

Working at the Hiker's the hostel was an amazing experience- the facilities were great, the work was fulfilling and I felt motivated to helpful and hospitable because of the environment the hostel creates. The nature surrounding the hostel is breathtaking and between working hours and days off there's plenty of opportunity to explore the mountains and area, as well as taking a bus or train to a nearby city(I had time to both hike Rsys and also visit Budapest on my days off). Overall it was a wonderful experience and I highly recommend it.
