The experience

You'll learn about making compost, fertilizers, and much more with our "profe" of organic agriculture who comes once or twice a week to work with you (when available). You'll also be able to assist weekly yoga classes, salsa classes, and other events at the eco-lodge! The program is designed to be two weeks, where you will learn the basics to set up a home garden or get some more knowledge about organic farming and permaculture techniques.


What you offer

15 hours of help per week

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Amount: COP$ 57000 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers and Materials for volunteer activities

Description: Volunteers contribute 57mil per day to cover three meals at our restaurant and a bed in our dorm (normally ~160mil/day). The fee also covers the organic agricultural workshops (6 hours during the 15 hour work week), weekly salsa class, and weekly yoga class.

Program Details

The majority of the work here is helping with the garden (weeding,
mulching, planting, and harvesting), and helping with farm
design, water systems, and reforestation. Once in a while we ask
our volunteers to help collect trash in the area to help San Rafael
and our beautiful neighborhood “El Macanal”. The program is designed to last two weeks- where you will learn the basics of permaculture and organic farming techniques!


Activities & Shift

Tuesday-Saturday 830am-1130am


Rules

We ask that you arrive on Monday at 3pm to check-in and to show you
your rooms.
At 6pm we have a mandatory meeting for new volunteers to meet
each other as well as the team here.
We will show you around, talk about our weeks goals, and the house
rules. We will also let you know about other activities you can
participate in during your stay in San Rafael (hikes, yoga, ping-pong
tournament, waterfalls, bird watching, dance classes and some other
activities offered by local guides).
Dinner will be served at 7:30pm on Monday and we will start work in the
gardens on tuesday!
