Program Details

You will be working 20 hours a week, mostly running our social media accounts and advertising our project and fruit festival. We will give you materials to help with this, but you will need your own phone, and optionally a computer.

Activities & Shift

We ask all of our new volunteers to participate in our group work activities at least 5 hours a week for the first 2 months of their stay here. So you could start the day with an hour of group work - mulching, weeding, and harvesting on the land. Then 3 hours of social media creation using the materials we supply and also creating new content during your time here. Videos, reels, photos, blog posts... a mix is nice but we are happy for you to mostly focus on what inspires you. We also all clean together once a week, and you may also have a scheduled day to clean the kitchen each week.

Rules

Food stuffs,

We have usually abundant bananas, papayas and some citrus year round. Other fruits like jackfruit, marang, starfruit, rollinia, peanut butter fruit, soursop, ice cream beans etc which come and go seasonally, and various roots for cooking when it's harvest time. We do not have enough food producing to feed everyone. Supplemental food can be bought at the market. Whole fruit and vegan food is the only food we allow. No oil, processed sugar or processed foods (with some explicit exceptions).

Sleeping info,

We have spare rooms and beds, but rarely spare bedding to borrow so it is best to plan on either bringing bedding and buying sheets and a blanket or two in town for your use. We also have some bedding put aside for rent, it's $5 / week or $15 / month.
