A great volunteering experience! Since it was off season, it was super relaxed so was a perfect time to experience Shkodër at a slower pace. Great location and awesome hostel :)

Rob is an incredible host, from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. He was very attentive, flexible with schedules, and very consistent with everything that was agreed upon beforehand. The hostel is very quiet and the tasks are very simple, we always finished the work ahead of schedule. The room offered is a guest room, so the cleaning lady always came to clean every day. Breakfast is very basic, but it was enough for me. The hostel doesn't offer many benefits such as tours, etc., so you have to do everything on your own. It's a very worthwhile experience if you like to travel slow

I had an amazing time in Shkodër during this project and albanians people are very kind! The tasks are simple — you'll be responsible for check-ins, setting up breakfast, and cleaning the common areas. Rob, the manager, is such a nice guy and you'll definitely have fun there. Also, great opportunity to improve your english and being in the north of Albania is a great way to explore the surroundings and even visit Montenegro or other nearby countries!

My experience at the hostel was amazing. The work was very smooth, and the other volunteers were great as well. During the volunteering, Rob, the manager, was always present and attentive to all needs. Besides him, Tito, the best pet guest cat, brings joy to the hostel. The place has excellent facilities, is super easy to reach, and is also very well located. I highly recommend this volunteering experience!

We ended up staying for 5 weeks, which is quite a long time to be in Shkoder, but staying in this hostel made it 1000% worth it. By far, the comfiest and most spacious beds you will EVER find in a hostel! It is also super clean and well taken care of. The tasks and expectations were consistent and respected. The manager Rob, is a chill and kind host and does a great job accommodating not only the volunteers but guests alike. He is FULL of knowledge regarding Albania and is always willing to help. The owners, Marci and Ellie, are kind, loving, and went out of their way to make us feel welcome.

I loved my time at the Scordinon Hostel, work was super easy and the hours respected. The hostel is super nice also and dorms comfortable. It was really fun the meet all the other volunteers also. Rob is a really fun guy also you won't be bored with him for sure! There's also Tito the cat which is more like a dog, such a sweet little creature. Overall i had an amazing time, you can definitely travel around on your days off if you want:)

I had a wonderful experience, meeting the best people, learning new things, seeing & diving into the culture of Albania especially the area of Shkoder and what it has to offer! To top it all off I have made amazing friends & the owners of the hostel are some of the nicest, most caring and proud people I've ever met! Can't thank Eli & Marsi enough for the hospitality & kindness, definitely the best hostel I've stayed in throughout my 3years of travel 😊

Volunteering at the hostel was one of the best experiences I've had. The place is super cozy, with a great atmosphere, and the owners — along with Rob — were incredibly kind and welcoming. I loved meeting people from different countries and enjoyed the beautiful city, its landscapes, and delicious food. I would 100% recommend this hostel, whether for volunteering or just a great stay.

This experience was okay. I'm glad I had it, the host is nice and welcoming. For me the city got old after about 3 days. The host was flexible which was welcomed, but he expects everyone to work one day for free and then has poor communication. Specifically in establishing / confirming scheduling changes and expectations. The hostel is well kept — clean, safe, and guests are encouraged to be respectful in many ways. It is in a great location for accessing the Theth - Valbone hike and Shkoder night life. If you're looking to really connect with travelers, expect to do it within a night.
