An incredible experience in one of the best places that I've been in my life with a family that treat you like one of their own! The work is simple and they respect the schedule, the peace that you experience in the house and mountains is unreal but the best of all is the hospilitality and pure love that they give. Also be prepared to eat the best homemade traditional food in all Albania! Definitely I would recommend this experience to everyone, thanks once again to Gaz, Faria and the hostel for everything and I'll be looking forward to see my family in the mountains again

Our volunteering in the hostel's Guesthouse was truly wonderful! The family took us in as their own and always treated us with love and kindness. The work is easy and the hours are respected, leaving us with lots of free time to explore. Valbonë is a breathtaking place with amazing landscapes and beautiful mountains, plus you have the river next to the house, which was really nice in the hot days. A big thank you to the hostel, Gaz and Faria for everything and hope to see you again soon ❤️

I absolutely loved staying at Arbens Guesthouse, the views and location are stunning but the best part is the people! I felt so welcomed and the family is super sweet, if I could I would have stayed for longer. I worked for a bit in the morning and a bit in the evening so the days are free to hike or swim in the river that's right next to the house. I liked the work as well as it's mostly helping out with breakfast and support in the kitchen. I will definitely try and come back, either to volonteer or just for a visit, it's an amazing place and the family is so caring, I'll miss it!

Disappointing. In two days, it became clear that the environment lacked respect for people, especially women. There was a noticeable difference in how men and women were treated—women were expected to cook, while men were not allowed in the kitchen. Gazmend's father yelled at me, and his mother didn't make me feel welcome either. The family identifies as conservative, but there's a difference between cultural values and respect for others. I felt so unwelcome that I was hesitant to eat, despite being told I could. Though the place is beautiful, the atmosphere made the experience uncomfortable.

She came with her boyfriend and we agreed that only her will be volunteering and to her boyfriend I gave a fair price for staying in my place.. and the they asked for a private room because they didn’t want to stay in the volunteer’s room.. it was all fine and I made a good price for them aswell.. the thing is she was volunteering in my place and her boyfriend was a guest not a volunteer and the kitchen is not just for the womens Rafaela but the kitchen is just for the people who are working there not for everyone.. and then she asked to have 2 days off in a week but I saw it was clear that she didn’t came to volunteer but they came just to chill.. Me and my family respected every single person who came in our guesthouse and didn’t have a single problem till now.. Im very disappointed on them!
