This was my very first experience with Worldpackers and it was everything I'd hoped for. The Simleit family welcomed me warmly into their household and made it feel like a second home. Kerk and Glenn explained the tasks well and were always open for questions. The kids are super friendly and are full of energy, which made every day exciting. It was fun spending time with them! Inverness is a beautiful city and offers a lot of possibilties to explore the Highlands and Scotland. Thank you for this very nice and enriching experience!!

I had a lovely time with this wonderful family in Inverness. They are all very kind, and the kids are super active, curious, and full of energy, which made every day lively and fun! The work was very flexible and easy to combine with my remote job. My main tasks included helping the kids get ready for school, cycling with them to school, cooking meals, and giving a hand around the house. If you enjoy a bit of cheerful chaos and a warm, family atmosphere, this is definitely the right place for you!

That was a wonderful experience, I would highly recommend it if you want to experience living in a smaller city, talking to locals, taking walks in the stunning Scottish nature and practice your English. The family gave me a warm welcome, the kids are smart and creative. Glenn and Kirk are always there to help you if you have any query, they explain what they need the help with and after a week or two you will get used to the routine. They also gave me some really good recommendations on what to see in the free time. That was an enriching experience, thank you!

The whole family was very welcoming and the children were easy to look out for. Unfortunately I didn't spend that much time with them since they were away for vacation for some time but that gave me the opportunity to explore the nearby area

Glenn and Kirk invited us into there beautiful home and instantly made us feel like we were apart of the family. There was not a moment in our stay where we felt uncomfortable or out of place. The kids are some of the most well rounded kind hearted children you could ask to work with they truly melt your heart. Glenn and Kirk are both very understanding of the desire for travel and are always there to assist you with travel needs. If Scottland is somewhere you considered visiting there is no place like the simlett house hold!

My 3 weeks were filled with happy memories and immersive experiences. I'm so grateful for how welcomed I was during my stay. This is experience is perfect for someone who wants to discover the area and enjoys time with families. I would recommend this to people who have worked with children in the past and are always looking for ways to help.

This was my first ever experience of volunteering with WorldPackers, and I was very pleased with it! Kerstine and Glenn made me feel like home. The work hours were flexible (I had to combine my remote work with some housekeeping and looking after kids). The kids are a lovely bunch! The guesthouse is located withing 25-minute walk from the city centre. Inverness itself is lovely - there are plenty of cute cafes, shops and cool pubs. Shops close quite early though! I really enjoyed staying with Glenn, Kerstine and their kids. Would be happy to come back one day! 🩷

My experience with the family was lovely. I was able to learn more about Inverness, I was able to learn more about English. I felt part of the family, they were warm, attentive and respectful! It was my first experience as a volunteer and it was the best start I could have had! Thank you very much family!

The tasks include taking the kids to school, picking them up, accompanying them to activities, cooking, and other household duties. Kerk and Glenn are very kind and fun; the house and room are cozy and comfortable. They always make sure you have everything you need and more, and are always ready to help, making you feel at home at all times. The kids are affectionate, smart, and a lot of fun to be around. Take good care of them and enjoy being with them cause they are special. I learned a lot from being with the kids and I will always remember them. ME GUSTA TU HERMANA (ask the kids about it).

This experience was great! Glenn and Kerk are amazing hosts, very welcoming and caring. They always gave us clear instructions to carry out tasks every day. We helped to prepare breakfast, get the kids ready and take them to school and after-school activities, prepare dinner, clean and do the laundry. But the best was to spend time with the kids. If you decide to come here, keep in mind you are a great influence in their childhood and upbringing. Be prepared to correct the kids when necessary, challenge them, encourage them, and have lots of fun. Inverness is a great place to explore as well.
