I had a great time at the hostel. The staff are lovely and made me feel welcome from the get-go. Shifts are rotated weekly and staff are flexible about switching. There were some initial issues with the cleanliness of the volunteer shower and dorm but these were eventually addressed and the hostel worked with us to resolve them. With that said, I hope they'll continue improving the dorm to make it an even better space. Overall, it was an incredibly fun experience, staff always make an effort to help you and I'll always cherish the friendships made with the other volunteers. Obrigada!

Mostly a great experience. The work was fun and taught me a lot of new skills. The variety of shifts is rewarding and shift times mostly allowed you to have a lot of time to explore the hostel. Staff were somewhat flexible with swapping shifts. Staff were fair with what was required of you and for the most part were a lovely group to work with. The hostel is very sociable and a great place to meet others. I feel the living space could be renovated in some ways as it's quite run down, had issues with bathroom mould but staff did try to resolve issues after some feedback.

Overall the experience was really enjoyable. I was lucky enough to meet some amazing people such as the other volunteers, staff and even guests. The job roles the volunteers are expected to complete are not too strenuous and can be completed easily enough in the five hour slots you have on work days. The experience would be 5 stars in my eyes if the volunteer accommodation received some much needed renovations, especially in the bathroom area which many volunteers chose not to use out of risk of being sick. Thankyou to the staff and volunteers for an enjoyable first worldpacker experience.

Some tips and things to know to enjoy your experience at the hostel's as much as possible : * bar shift is outside, it might be very cold some nights, don't forget to bring warm clothes * most members of the staff don't speak english. Communication and bonding is not always easy * some members of the staff might be very demanding and sometimes a bit bossy. Feel free to set up your boundaries and reminding them that you are here to learn and to do your best to help them * team dorm needs some renovations especially canalizations The best part of the experience is the volunteers team

The hostel was a great first volonteering experience. The work during low season is more chill but also less stimulating (bar shift felt a bit long when there was almost nobody). I recommend bringing enough jackets and coats because the bar shift during the evening are outside (I didn't know) so we were freezing and had to go and buy more clothes. Also not all staff members spoke or wanted to speak english with us. A little Spanish or portugese is almost necessary to bond with the staff. Overall, the friendships I made with the other volonteers is definitely the best part of my experience. Xx

The first weeks of my volntr. experience were truly amazing! Most of the stuff were super cool and welcoming. The tasks were easy and fair. I've met so many lovely people and made real connections. I really felt like home there. The garden is amazing, the kitchen is big and the bar is probably one of the best things there. Although it was low season during my stay, i still had a lot of fun and this is a really social hostel. Sadly i had some issues with the managers at the end of my stay. No more space to tell the details but i was treated super disrespectful.

My stay at the hostel was amazing, I can definitely recommend!! Both hired staff and other volunteers made the whole experience a 10/10. We had our own volunteer-house in the beautiful garden with a lot of privacy - only downside being the bathroom in our house that has a few problems with mould. The work was really nice and varied, and allowed for a lot of time to explore the hostel and socialize with both volunteers, and guests in the hostel. Huuuuge recommendation!

Thank you Martha for your feedback! We are actually already making some fixing in the bathroom and turning the volunteers House even better and cozier!

The hostel Jordis has been my first Worldpackers experience and I couldn't recommend this place enough, everyone is so welcoming the team here is the best and I feel so grateful to be able to be apart of it all, the work is nice and easy hours are good, the accom is good the only downfall is the bathroom but other then that it's been an amazing experience, I'm going to miss everyone here so much, definitely recommend this place to anyone :))

I had an amazing time volunteering at the hostel! The hostel has both a fun and relaxing energy. Volunteers live in a shed separate from the main building which gives us our own space and creates a tight bond. The staff da good job of trying to make the experience fun. As a volunteer you do different jobs throughout the week which helps to break things up. Most times the shifts are the full 5 hours, but there is still plenty of time to explore the hostel. Everything is easily accessible by either walking or the metro. I would definitely recommend this experience !! :)

Lovely modern hostel, with a great garden and outside bar! I had the time of my life, honestly. All the staff members are welcoming and became friends over time. Work is easy and very social, so you dont get bored too often. Theres enough freetime to travel around the region and explore the city all around. I would highly recommend. the hostel changes you, for the better.
