I couldn't recommend the hostel more! The work is well described and what they say, and it's not too hard. The staff is great, especially Thiago and Luzia. You really have a chance to get to know the staff and the volunteers. You meet volunteers from all over the world and I definitely met some friends for life there. The hostel and garden is beautiful and a great place to chill when you aren't working, but the hostel is also within walking distance to any main part of the city and some great viewpoints. Would definitely come back!!

As my first volunteering experience I can say without any doubt that I highly recommend spending a month of your time here in the hostel. The most important thing for me has been the outdoor space that the hostel offers: the beautiful garden has been crucial to my daily life inside the hostel, it gave me and the others the chance to enjoy the weather, each other's company, meals etc surrounded by nature. The room itself was not the best and I hope they can make it more cosy and welcoming. I met a lot of new people and made strong connections with the other volunteers, I would do it again 100%

Oohhh my god I loved my time at the hostel! Staff members are hilarious, I loved working/chatting with them and everyone made me feel very welcome x my fellow volunteers became a little family and we spent everyday together exploring the hostel which there was plenty of time for before/after a shift and on days off. Some work was harder than others but truly nothing was too much, you're always working with full time staff and shifts are five hours. Bar was super fun but busy at time and you actually learn bartending skills, thanks Tiago and Luiza hehee. Would definitely recommend :) beijinhos xx

I had an amazing stay at the hostel. The hostel is beautiful and clean but my favourite part was the huge garden and the bar. I loved to chill out there. The hours were respected, the tasks were totally fine, the staff were super kind and helpful, it was a pleasure to work together with people like Vanessa and Fernando. Btw, some Spanish and/or Portugese knowledge is very useful. :) All in all, I highly recommend to volunteer at the hostel in the hostel. :)

So the Staff there was the best I could imagine. Everyone is like a best friend to me, also the tasks are very okay, and you will have more than enough free time. And I really enjoyed the Hispanic people at the bar, they really know how to party.

This place is special and I had an amazing time over there. Immediately after arriving, I felt very welcome thanks to my fellow volunteers and superhost Luiza. Work consists of different types of shifts, which gives a nice variety. Housekeeping is easy when you can work with charming people such as Vanessa and Helen. I got my first taste of bartending at the hostel's own bar, learning valuable skills from bartender Thiago. But the most difficult task for me was having to walk out the front door at the end of my stay. All in all, my experience was so much better than I could've ever imagined.

Wow what an amazing experience! Honestly can't say enough amazing things about this hostel and the workers there. The hostel is beautiful and very clean, the hours and shifts are respected and given to you well in advance so you can plan your activities around the hostel, and the workers are all super friendly. Lúzia and Tiago at the bar are amazing and treat everyone like friends, they will give/show you places around the city and tips for what to see and where to go. Only bad thing about it is it will ruin other hostels for you because I can't see any other place being better! Thank you!

My time at the hostel's was amazing! Tasks were communicated clearly, the work was consistent, and the grounds are so nice. Luiza is an amazing host who will always take requests into account and make sure the volunteers feel at home. The rest of the staff is very kind as well, but it helps a lot if you speak some spanish. The location is great and I had plenty of time to explore the greater area. The team of volunteers felt like a family by the end of my time, and I've made some lasting friendships here. This was my first volunteer experience and I couldn't have asked for a better one!

I had an amazing time at San the hostel! Work hours were fair and respected. The staff are super nice and welcoming, make sure you know some basic spanish/Portuguese to communicate with them :) Hostel facilities are beautiful and well kept. Make sure to bring lots of warm clothes if you're traveling in February!

Since my first day I felt at home at the hostel. My shifts where based in creating content for their social media and it was a flexible and creative work. I am so grateful for all the people that I met and for all the experience, I absolutely recommend it <3
