Farm helper at a peaceful sanctuary

It was a good experience, points to improve. The food is very repetitive. If you are going to be on long stays, it becomes a problem, and if work is continuous without breaks, you can make the most of the afternoon. I also stayed in a tent, which needs to be improved. Otherwise, all good

The farm experience was good! I met beautiful people and learned about the Hare Krishna culture. At work some days were harder than others. In general there is respect and trust. In my case the food made me a little sick. Some days there was not good communication within the team, and we did not know, for example, about fasting days, but it is nothing that cannot be improved. I suggest you prepare in advance with some of your own options to eat. The bathrooms and caravans are good! Other spaces could be improved as well. Thank you Ramai and KC for welcoming me and making sure we are well ♡

It was a ok experience. Negative points for me was the accommodation too small and uncomfortable. The food was basically the same every week and with a lack of nutrients. And they receive lots of volunteers but don't have structure to receive well them all. The work was easy in my opinion. KC is a good person and a nice boss. I also loved meeting Achyuta in goshala, good and lovely person. The city is good and the location is an advantage because is close to London.

It was a nice experience, the work wasn't difficult, everyone was very nice, the caravan where we slept wasn't not too bad, the best of all was being able to share with many volunteers from different countries which made my stay fun. The only thing that isn't good is the food as it's Indian Vegetarian food which means a lot of spicy and not much variety to choose from.

I can't say much about it because for health reasons I didn't stay, but the people there are nice and polite and the place is huge and beautiful.

The work on the farm can be hard, but you enjoy being in contact with nature, KC is a great person, he explains the tasks with great kindness, they are all good people, I would definitely return. the food seasoned and spicy, very traditional. Negative point, the accommodation, little space for so many girls.

Not a good place to stay in winter. I knew that I was supposed to stay in a caravan but I didn't think it was in such bad condition, there were rats inside and even if there were some small heaters it was still cold and cold air came through the windows. The place was certainly interesting and the volounteers nice and kind and I would have liked to stay there but I never could in those conditions

The experience was nice, I was surrounded by nature and the people of the community are very friendly, especially Achyuta and KC. My favorite part of the work was to drive the tractor 😎🚜 . Indian food is very tasty. In my opinion, the area for improvement would be the caravan, it needs a little maintenance. In general, if you like gardening, fresh air and you are open to learn about new cultures, this is for you. 🌱 HARE KRISHNA!

I'm very grateful for this experience and I recommend it in case you want to get out of your comfort zone and do different things as in my case I've never worked in a farm before. The volunteer manager was responsive before my arrival since he was able to answer all my questions and also during my stay. The work was a little bit hard since it was outside during winter, but other than that it's fine. The stay is in a caravan which has the basics: beds, kitchen, shower and toilet. Nothing fancy, just don't expect to sleep in the temple. They provide vegetarian Indian food.

I wish there would have been more of an opportunity to engage with the activities at the temple. The dorm is a 15 minute walk through fields and not very easy after dark. The work in the gardens was hard, but I'm sure everyone will see the fruits of our labor in the spring 🙂 If you are arriving during winter, make sure to understand what the tasks entail and bring appropriate shoes and clothing!
