Volunteering at the eco village is a wonderful way to disconnect from modern life and learn more about thai culture and agriculture. prepare yourself with A LOT of mosquito repellant, though. the mosquitoes are heinous…

My time at HHH has been an experience I will never forget and one that has had quite the impact. From working side by side with Pinan Jim, Pinan Tea, and their son, to cooking in the kitchen, learning about Buddhism, meditation, Lanna history and culture, and more, it was an enriching experience. I feel utterly fulfilled and content from the time I spent with their family, and wish I could have stayed longer. As people have mentioned, the food is delicious, and I loved lending a helping hand in the cooking and learning from Pinan Tea. You get from this experience what you give.

Pinam Jim is a welcoming and lovely host. Always telling stories about Lana culture and about his experiences, he also like to ask us about our own ones and about our opinions. The tasks are flexible and we feel confortable to speak to him if we need any changes. The interaction with the rest of the volunteers was also really nice. The place is simple and rustic, in the nature, so if you are ready for that, the rest is all good, as you can feel the familiar enviromental around :)

I recommend this place to anyone eager to learn. Pinan Jim has a lot of knowledge and will be the eco village to share it with you. Whether you are interested in building, gardening, medecinal plants, cooking, Buddhism, meditation, kung-fu and so many other subjects you will be the eco village here. The accommodations are simple, so you have to be comfortable with the camping lifestyle and bugs for example. However the family will do everything they can for you to have a lovely stay so if you need anything just ask nicely. I recommend coming during low season to get a more "familial stay" :)

I really enjoyed my time at the eco village. Pinan Jim and Pinan Tea are lovely people and I really liked Pinan Tea's wonderful cooking. The work was minimal due to the hot weather so I spent a lot of time sitting and reading. I got to experience a little bit of gardening, making mulberry jam, meal prep and tried some of the building too.

My stay at the eco village was great. I really enjoyed it there. The hosts are super friendly and you just feel at home. Penang Thi is a really really good cook and a really sweet lady. Penang Jim is like a teacher (in a good way) and I have never seen someone playing the guitar with such a passion :)
