The hostel is fantastic when the right volunteers and guests coalesce. It was a great base for me to meet some excellent people and explore Kansai. The basic facilities are perfectly adequate and you can live comfortably, though I'd like to see better investment and communication from the owners - the place is quite self-governing. Work is uncomplicated and structured in a way that you have time to do your own thing. the hostel is a place to settle in Osaka, to meet other travellers in the short term and bond with other volunteers in the long term. It'll be what you make of it.

Akari-san is very trusting towards the staff, and supportive of new ideas, as well as staffs' opinions regarding certain customers! She allows freedom to certain extend, which gave me a lot of space to help clean up, organise the hostel/the hostel freely, including creating an inventory check-list. I hope the list would help her and her staffs in future business to stay "responsible in consumption & production". Although she is busy and visits periodically for short hours, she is highly responsive on text-messages. I hope to continue to learn from her, even after my stay here has come to an end.

It was truly fun and amazing, the hostel has a great environment to meet people and hang out with them, knowing the guests and the staff. Also the location is very good, you can travel different parts of the city super easy, and you can even get to know a few further places.

The hostel is in a great location, located in tsuruhashi (korea town) , and not very far from the center also , the hostel have a very chill vibes and the other volunteers are so friendly and social, i really recommend this place to other travelers, also the owner AKARI , is very nice and friendly and professional person.

Fired me during a shift and told me o had to leave then or tomorrow. I missed one that morning (4 hours shift) from 10:00am-2:00pm when I was working the shift from 2:00pm-10:pm too. Begged her to stay and told her it was unfair and she said I was gone. Left my message on opened when I begged her a second time. Six hours later (after I'd booked a flight out of the country) she told me I could stay! I would never recommend Akari (who I only met in person because I travelled to her the hostel so I could meet her in person) to anybody.
