This experience was really great. I was received in their home in Shanghai (上海) and then moved to Dalian (大连). They have always been respectful, welcoming and really put effort on offering a good place to stay, as well that they spent time to teach me about Northern and general culture, food and history of China. I totally recommend this volunteering for someone passioned for education and trying to get involved more deeply with Chinese life style.

⸻ I really felt at home during my stay here. Susie is incredibly kind and welcoming, and I had the chance to get to know her lovely family as well. Her mother cooked us some delicious meals that made me feel so cared for. I also spent time with the little boy, who is not only very smart but also so passionate about soldiers—it was truly fun teaching him, and I actually learned a lot from him too! This experience was warm, meaningful, and unforgettable. Thank you so much for everything!

I had a good time with the kids teaching them Tennis and piano at their grandparents house near Hangzhou. At times it definitely felt like that there was not a lot to do in the village and communication usually functioned via Translator app. Everyone involved, from the kids to the grandparents and parents were super kind, welcoming and accommodating. If you want to really know how day to day life in China feels like, this is an amazing experience.

I ended up spending five days with Susie's family in Shanghai. It was my pleasure to be part of the family even just for a very short time of period. I truly enjoyed the time spent with Diandian, the 5-year-old boy of the family. I had a lot of free time during the day, and usually, the work would take place after Diandian came back from kindergarten. The work was easy and manageable, what I did was read the picture books and answer his questions; I also took the grandma around since she struggled to read maps, however, this is def up to your choice. Thanks for having me :-)
