The experience

Welcome to our Early Childhood Education Program in the heart of Chamazi village, Dar Es Salaam, where every child's potential is nurtured and celebrated. Our program is dedicated to providing quality education and care to vulnerable children from less advantaged families in our neighborhood.

At our center, we believe that every child deserves access to a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment, regardless of their background.

What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Sports: Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: € 13 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

Description: Volunteers’ fee goes to the host families’ house to cover the expenses of the stay like, three meals per day breakfast, lunch and dinner, and other daily utilities. A part of this fund is used in assisting organization’s projects like raising awareness for vulnerable children. It’s recommended this fee to be paid upfront at the start of the project as it fosters budget accuracy and reinforcing the commitment for volunteers.

What you get

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Requirements

Beginner English or Beginner Portuguese

Between 18 and 75 years old

Program Details

We're excited to invite passionate individuals who are eager to make a difference in the lives of young children. As an assistant early childhood educator, you'll play a crucial role in providing love, care, and support to children aged 1.5 to 6 years old.

Volunteers in our program don't need professional experience; what matters most is your passion, warmth, and willingness to collaborate. Here's a glimpse of what you'll be doing:

- Childcare Assistance You'll be a caring presence for our little ones, engaging them in age-appropriate activities, reading stories, and providing gentle guidance as they explore and learn.

- Mealtime Support Assist in meal preparation, serving food, and ensuring that children have a nutritious and enjoyable dining experience. You will help in cleaning up afterward.

Activities & Shift


The main daily activity is being assistant teacher at the school and baby sitter. You will be dealing with the children in one of our nursery schools, help them with teaching, playing, singing, dancing etc.


Volunteers supposed to work 5 hours per day, 5 days in a week. From 09:00 am to 02:00 pm.

Rules

Volunteers are highly advised to cover their knees and shoulders when dealing with social projects like teaching at the nursery school.

Volunteers encouraged to be respectful and as open minded as possible. Expect cultural clashes.
