The experience

Hi everyone,
I run a small homestay on the outskirts of Hanoi, and I’m looking for volunteers to join me. You’ll help take care of the garden, tidy up the homestay, and occasionally welcome guests. On top of that, you’ll get the chance to teach English to some local kids who live nearby. They speak English quite well and are a great way for you to connect with the local community and experience Vietnamese culture up close.

Program Details

Usually, on weekends, a few families stay at the homestay overnight. Your role on these days will be to help organize English-language activities for the children, such as arts and crafts, cooking (we’ll provide the ingredients), drawing, sports, board games, and scavenger hunts. You will help the kids practice English through play and join in the BBQ parties with the families.

On days when there are no guests, you will help us with garden maintenance, tidying up the rooms, and teaching English to some of the neighboring children (about 1–1.5 hours per day).
This is a wonderful opportunity to experience daily life in a Vietnamese homestay, interact with local families, and share your skills while having fun in a beautiful, natural setting.
