At our charitable daycare in Chamazi Village, we provide affordable to free quality early childhood education for vulnerable children. Our mission is to ensure every child, regardless of their background, receives a strong educational foundation in a nurturing environment. Through dedicated care and tailored learning programs, we strive to empower the young minds of our community and offer them a brighter future.
What you offer
25 hours of help per week
Social Work:
Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.
Teaching Sports:
Teaching or assisting the host, guests, or local communities in practicing sports or physical activities.
Teaching Languages:
Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Description:
Volunteers’ fee goes to the host families’ house to cover the expenses of the stay like, three meals per day breakfast, lunch and dinner, and other daily utilities.
A part of this fund is used in assisting organization’s projects like raising awareness for vulnerable children.
It’s recommended this fee to be paid upfront at the start of the project as it fosters budget accuracy and reinforcing the commitment for volunteers.

Program Details
Welcome to our project here in Dar es Salaam! Our initiative, organized by Hope Haven Childcare, focuses on supporting vulnerable children.
• Daycare Hours: You are required to volunteer for 5 hours at the daycare daily, as agreed upon through the platform.
• Optional Tutoring: You can choose to volunteer for an additional 2 hours after regular classes, providing lessons in English and mathematics to children aged 2 to 16.
• Languages: We teach in both Swahili and English to accommodate all children.
• Roles: Your primary roles include assisting early childhood educators and acting as childcare assistants. However, we encourage you to contribute beyond teaching by helping with general tasks around the project, fostering a supportive and engaging environment for the children.

Activities & Shift
How's the day looks like for volunteers?
08:30 AM. - 09:00 AM. Breakfast at host family's house.
09:00 AM - Walk/ drive to the school.
09:15 AM - 02:00 PM. Engage in Class activities at the local nursery school.
02:15 PM - Lunch
02:15 PM. - 04:30 PM. No activities/ Resting time.
04:30 PM - 07:00 PM. Extra class for the underprivileged children from public schools. (Optional)
07:30 PM - 08:00 PM. Dinner.
Saturday & Sunday
Breakfast, outdoor activities, dinner, and nightlife.
Rules
Volunteers must wear attire that covers their knees and shoulders while teaching.
Volunteers encouraged to be respectful and as open minded as possible. Expect cultural clashes.
