Good experience and one of the best accommodation on this platform. The location is ideal for beautiful scenery, calm and peacefulness . Small but not too remote. Local bus is right by the hotel. I have to say I do not recommend for first timers, you are expected to adapt right away and not much information is provided but the team is always available to answer your questions and also for people that don't enjoy spending time alone. I definitely would go back.

My experience at the guest house was incredible! From the moment I arrived there, Seamus, Luiza, and Geraldine made me feel at home. They were really kind and were always willing to help me. The chefs and the other employees were also welcoming and friendly. Work can vary from cleaning rooms and doing the laundry to helping in the kitchen or at the pub, and I loved that, because you never get bored! The work is simple and you have a lot of free time to explore the area. The rooms are comfortable and clean, and the food is amazing! Thanks for the wonderful time I spent at the guest house ❤️

It was a really good experience, with a friendly team. The only problem is the number of buses per day... You can't really move to discover Ireland without your own car.

The amount of work is insane , they put me as waiter and they dont give u the table # , u had to guess every time , the lack comunication is a thing also between the members of the org, we were not allowed to grab many types food , they barely give you toast, marmalade and egg, sometimes milk, they are not capable to negotiate days off or exchanging shifts, geraldine told me that if I didnt like it I must move on , so I did Just stay away of this place!! unless u want to be kicked out !

My experience with this volunteering was bad. I cannot speak about the tasks that had to be done because they did not give me the opportunity to stay there because the next day they sent me to another volunteer on another island because they did not need me, on the fourth day of having been in the other volunteer I wanted to return to Newport to talk to my Host and stay at the place I originally applied to but the Host only let me stay one night because he said there was no room for me. The truth is that the treatment of the Host was not adequate and I do not recommend this place to volunteer

I had a very good experience. I arrived at the end of August so during my first weeks I worked with a group of employees and at least another two volunteers at all times. All my shifts were shared with multiple people doing multiple tasks. By the end of summer, most of the work landed in the hands of the volunteers. I was already used to the rhythm and the paste of the place but it was a lot to take in all of the sudden. When in doubt, go to Geraldine! They provide the kitchen and ingredients, you will cook for yourself (for me this was better but I know that for some people that's an issue)

I was in Newport with a friend and our experience started with a lot of confusion. All because communication was not the best. But with every day it got better and I began to enjoy my time there! Keep in mind that you will probably live and help out in the bar instead of doing housekeeping in the guest house while your stay. I had a great time working with the staff, they were super friendly and made me feel like a part of the group! On our last day, Luiza took us to Achill Island and we had a nice chat while eating lunch. It was the perfect trip to end this experience!

Well, our first few days were hard since we needed to adapt really quickly. The tasks differ sometimes from what is described, since you have to work in a bar and sometimes even serve the guests. Another thing is that you probably won't be sleeping in the guest house, but instead in the B&B over the bar. The staff is really nice and support all the worldpackers. If you have an allergy, the food provided might be a problem, in my case there wasn't that much gluten-free food, but I was allowed to use the kitchen.
