Come help and enjoy yoga, meditation, deep wisdom & nature in NZ!
The experience
Sacred Earth is a community of like-minded individuals, living life more connected to self, nature and others. We offer classes of yoga/meditation and events that encourage people to return and connect more deeply to themselves. Our volunteers play a crucial role in maintaining our spaces. Karma Yoga, or the yoga of action, focuses on performing tasks with awareness, care, and love, aiming for the greater good rather than personal gain.

Program Details
- Work:
Volunteers are required to work on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Tasks range from gardening and trail maintenance to cleaning, supporting events and building projects.
- Accommodation and Facilities:
Sacred Earth is spread across several properties and volunteers are allocated to one of the two facilities: Satyavan House or The Annex, both are within 10 minute walking distance. The spaces are shared between volunteers, guests, and residents. Both facilities offer private rooms, shared bathrooms and kitchen access.
- Food and Dining:
We provide fruit and snacks during volunteer shifts and we arrange a weekly volunteer dinner (Fridays) with food supplied by Sacred Earth for us all to cook together.
Volunteers are responsible for all their other meals and we recommend
bringing supplies due to our rural location. Please note that no meat is allowed, so please don't bring any.
Weekly food runs (Tuesdays) are available for free and details can be confirmed upon arrival.
Other important information:
- Pickup is only available on Tuesdays from Henderson. For arrival on other days, volunteers are required to arrange their own transportation. An Uber from Henderson train station costs approximately 50$. Please arrive at 122 Lone Kauri Rd. (this house is called "Satyavan"). Turn off from Lone Kauri Rd. at Karekare Fire Station.
- Internet is only provided at The Annex volunteer kitchen and access is limited. Note that you only have service on the property on the Spark network (providers: Spark, Skinny).
- Laundry machines are available for free. We encourage drying clothes outside, but there are dryers available for a 5$ fee.
