I had an amazing time here. Me and my friend went together and we lost power our first night and had a total misunderstanding with the host where we thought there was no electricity at all. But once that was resolved it was really an amazing experience. It would have been even better if I had known more Spanish so definitely practice that before coming. The hosts were so nice and helped us set up excursions and rides to and from the airport. Such amazing people and duh a great experience, definitely plan on coming back within a year (after practicing Spanish).

The hosts really care about their volunteers! They clearly work very hard and show great hospitality to their guests. I would highly encourage knowing how to speak Spanish since the hosts speak very little to no English. I relied a lot on other volunteers who spoke English and Spanish. It also makes socializing and getting around the community much smoother. Also be prepared for the extreme humidity! A lot of hard labor and landscaping is required on the farm, but short hours were appreciated. Overall, I think these hosts are doing the best they can with their resources and have kind hearts!

Elisabeth and Eric were super welcoming when I arrived. Elisabeth is a great cook and Eric knows a ton about the land they live on so talking to him about the plants was super interesting. The only complaints I had was about the work, it seemed more like busy work that actually helping, granted I don't speak much Spanish so we couldn't communicate what's going on super well, we did a lot of raking leafs and moving a pile of wood from one area to another. Their farm isn't as much of a farm as a hostel. They are very close to the beach and we had a lot of free time to explore the land scape.

Erik and Elizabeth were involved hosts! Elizabeth is a fantastic cook! Having intermediate or higher Spanish would improve your stay. Their home is 11 Km from the city center and taxis are very expensive. This made not much to do in the afternoons which was hard at times. The accommodations are very basic and the day and nights are very HOT! There were 4 other volunteers and it was great to work and socialize with others. We lost power many times over the week as the rains were just beginning and lost water once for half the day. Bring more cash than you think you will need.

My time at the farm was magical. Erik and Eliza are some of the most kind, caring, and overall wonderful people I've ever met. They immediately welcomed me into their space and made me feel like a part of the family and the larger community as well. The food is wonderful and healthy, and the property and surrounding area is remote and beautiful. I can't recommend the farm enough to anyone seeking to fully immerse themselves in a new culture and stunning natural setting. Tip: bring cash!! It's impossible to get in Drake

I missed my little family as soon as I left. Genuinely some of the most caring people I have ever had the opportunity to meet. I loved involvement in the comunity. It gave me a true feel for the culture. If you are interested in immersion I can't recommend the farm enough. I will 100% be returning to this lovely place. The whole property felt like a garden filled with medicinal and edible flora. The wildlife is unreal. things to note -they speek minimal English. They are exited to learn and teach -be ready to pay in cash before traveling to the project I love Cieba the farm!

The farm is a hidden gem surrounded by exquisite nature & the most beautiful sunsets & beaches just a short walk away. I had so many incredible experiences during my short 2 weeks here that I almost can't believe it! Erik & Eli are really involved in community-based tourism so they're constantly in the know about other amazing opportunities to collaborate with locals which allowed for a variety of enriching experiences. I felt like I really got to learn more about the life of locals and Erik & Eli also shared so much wisdom & stories with me which i appreciated. Suerte con todo 🤗 ¡!

Erik and Eli are so nice and welcoming! The food is absolutely authentic and so good🤤 You work before noon and the afternoons are off. They have a lot of work to do on the property and I had to paint the inside of a room. Their family and friends would visit and they are all as welcoming as the hosts! I got to go out with them, go to hidden waterfalls and immerse myself completely in the culture. My experience at the farm was exactly what I was looking for. I cried when I left haha and I will definitely come back, perhaps before the end of my trip! They speak Spanish so I could practice

Being at the farm has been the best volunteering experience ever. The owners are amazing and you are truly gonna experience the typical life of Costa Rica. The food, different everyday, is delicious and you can enjoy a lot of trips around the area. Everything is very special and made with love. I can't wait to come back. Muchas gracias por todo!

Overall I had a really great time at the farm. The location is a bit outside of Drake but it's really beautiful and you're in the middle of nature. You can experience a authentic Costa Rican lifestyle and food. Every meal is freshly cooked and really delicious. Eliza and Erik are great hosts and really try to let you have the best possible experience. It's a really new project so everything is still in the making but that allows you to be a part of it and help with ideas. Thank you for the great time at your place!! Pura vida
