The experience

We run a turtle conservation program since 2016. To support this program, we provide a reading garden as an educational medium for children from an early age to start learning to love the sea and its ecosystem. Apart from that, the organisation is also accompanying the women's group with the main activities of weaving for campaign about save turtle and clean the beach.

You will stay with the local and experience authentic local cuisine!


What you offer

30 hours of help per week

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.

Cleaning: Help clean the kitchen, bedrooms, bathrooms and common areas.

Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.

Teaching Languages: Teaching a language to the host, guests, or local communities.

Additional fee required

Amount: US$ 11 Per day

Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers, Materials for volunteer activities, and Donation to project

Description: Volunteers contribute IDR 150k or $11 daily for the living expenses to support the local project & family in providing food & lodging


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.


Requirements

Intermediate English or Intermediate English

Between 18 and 65 years old

Welcomes solo volunteers, couples, and partners of volunteers


What's not included

Flights, Travel Insurance, Internal Transportation and Visa


Activities & Shift

1. Providing a learning place for children and the community to receive education about love the sea and its ecosystem by providing an educational house at the turtle hatching location and a reading park
2. Support make a spirit of love for the sea and its habitat in children from an early age
3. Making Lembata a center for data and research, especially on turtles
4. Developing community-based ecotourism
5. Accompanying women in cultural preservation activities weaving with motifs and messages about turtle conservation
