Our experience at the reserve was unique. patricia and her brother Hernan are very welcoming and always kind, the nature around and the animals are fascinating. the activities to do were sometimes short and light while others more heavy, we cleaned the beach, collected coconuts and other things. the area is very isolated and to reach other places you always have to take the boat, we still managed to visit a few other places on our free days. the food is very good. we recommend this experience if you want to stay in touch with nature and animals and discover a different reality.

I loved my stay here. Patricia and her brother Hernan made me feel very welcome from day one. Hernan especially, he taught me how to fish, how to cook a lot of things, we played cards for hours, and went on fishing trips where he told me about all kinds of animals that we saw! This place was very peaceful. The work was minimal each day, but that is probably because I stayed for such a short amount of time (6 days). After work each day I would lay in the hammocks and cuddle with the dogs, go to the beach, or play cards. I was always well fed and comfortable here. I plan on coming back :)

I had such an amazing time here. It was a great chance to get in touch with nature and all of the beautiful animals this little jungle on the coast of Costa Rica has to offer. Hernan and Patricia were very kind and friendly throughout my stay, and very patient with my inability to speak much spanish. The beach was beautiful, I saw monkeys and helped with hatching baby sea turtles at the nearby volunteer organization, and helped with interesting and novel (to me) tasks such as coconut harvesting for my chores on days I was unable to help with turtles. Some days were hard work but so rewarding!

I had a wonderful time at the camp. It went beyond my expectations! There were a few cons, but nothing that was a deal breaker for me. I highly recommend project to those who are into off the grid living. You're disconnected from the rest of the world and surrounded by nature and the locals within the area. There is no phone signal on the camp but if you get a Kolbi SIM card you can receive signal on the beach. There is wifi on the camp that you can use but cuts on and off throughout the day. A TON of mosquitoes so be aware. Bring water too! Feel free to message me with any questions

My stay at the reserve Parcuare was amazing! I felt like the experience was really authentic and like nothing else I've ever experienced. The price you pay compared to your tasks and what you get in return is definitely fair (The food is even for a vegetarian amazing). The only thing you have to keep in mind when going there, is that you really are far away from any town and only surrounded by nature which makes coming and going a bit complicated. I really recommend this place to everyone who wants to actually get to know Costa Ricas Nature and spirit:)

I got to meet & bond with other travelers, connect with nature and locals. The food provided was amazing as well. One of the tasks we did was collect trash from the beach which was nice to be a part of. Patricia was nice and easy to communicate with & Hernan did a great job teaching us about the wildlife surrounding us. Overall, an amazing experience.

This experience was so unique. The hosts were super friendly, engaging and attentive which meant there was never a dull moment. I really appreciated the flexibility around dates and quick turn around of providing information. The location is so remote allowing you to connect with nature, wildlife and locals creating an authentic experience making me feel like I know more about Costa Rica than I would have doing anything else and I'm so glad I decided to do the programme.

Quick for the work related part: It wasn't easy, the night patrols over the beach were harder than expected and there's tons of mosquitos, of course;) If you're relatively fit and don't mind staying up pretty late for those shifts, it'll be absolutely manageable. Even though I had to leave earlier than planned (my birthday was coming up and I prefered calling my family and being closer to civilisation for that day;) ) I absolutely loved staying with Patricia! The food she made three times a day was amazing, the room was pretty spacious and she was also just a kind soul!

Patricia was a wonderful host, the meals were delicious. I spent a lot of my time reading and playing cards, Patricia's family was very nice and welcoming, her brother took me fishing a couple of times. The turtle project is with another camp, most of which speak English which was nice to also connect with people there. A truly rewarding experience to do turtle conservation. Overall a very relaxing stay and I would absolutely go back!
