My first volunteering – and it was amazing! Patrizia is kind, flexible, and cooks great food. Tasks like making coconut fruit leather are simple, weather-dependent, and she adapts to your energy. Evenings were full of good vibes – small parties, great talks, and laughs with other volunteers. The place is peaceful and full of nature. Lots of animals around, lovely locals, and plenty of time to rest or read. A warm, authentic experience I'll never forget!

My experience was amazing!! Patricia was super welcoming and fun. She's also an amazing cook. We played games with her as well as with the other volunteers. Tried several new fruits and vegetables which was great. The volunteer work itself was super interesting and rewarding. Each day you had a night patrol of 4hrs (starting hour varied each day) with at least one other person. There were also shifts in the hatchery but you didn't have them everyday. Patricia also has some very cute dogs and cats which were massive plus! All in all an amazing experience!!

My partner and I had a wonderful first volunteering experience with Patricia and everyone there working to protect the turtles. We felt very cared for by Patricia, not only by her great cooking but also by being a genuinely nice and funny person. The boat ride to her place was like in a fairy tale. With the beach only being a few meters out of her door, it was a beautiful place to call home for a few days. The cats and dogs who were very friendly and loving only contributed to this :'). You get to combine contributing to a great cause with plenty of free time. Very worth it!

I loved staying with Patricia, she is such a lovely person and she made me feel so welcome staying with her even though this was out of my comfort zone. It's nice that you have the accommodation not attached to the house so you can have some alone time as well. The food I was given was delicious, good portions and well balanced which is needed after doing 10k beach walks. This experience isn't the same as the actual LAST experience but you get to meet everyone who is staying there and they are super welcoming as well so I never felt like I was missing out.

It was really cool working with the seaturtles and helping LAST. The patrols can be tiring but it felt so good to help and having the chance of seeing and helping a turtle was what made it really exciting. Maybe I would have preferred to stay at the actual LAST project because all the volunteers were there and I would feel more part of the group, but Patricia's place was also really nice and the food was great!! And staying at Patricia's you can practice your Spanish which is a pro.

This was my first WorldPackers experience, and I honestly couldn't have imagined a better one. The island is beautiful, and Patri and Hernán made me feel so welcome from the start. I met great people, the food was amazing, and helping with the turtles and coconuts made it feel like I was contributing to something meaningful. It was such a good reminder to slow down and appreciate the moment. I really admire the Pura Vida lifestyle, I didn't want to leave! If you're looking to reconnect with nature and disconnect from the noise, I definitely recommend this experience.

This was my first Worldpackers trip and it was amazing! Patricia was very welcoming. We mainly worked with Hernan on the coconut farm, he was truly the highlight of our stay. He had a deep love for the island and animals, which made the experience special. The work on the farm varied, but the hours were short and manageable. The environment takes time to get used to, but the people and culture make it so worth it. Before coming, I didn't know much Spanish, but Hernan was patient and always helped me. I would recommend learning some Spanish before choosing this stay. Overall amazing experience

This was my first experience with world packers, and I absolutely loved it. Patricia and Hernan are incredible hosts, and I was never afraid to ask for help with transportation, changing my meal times, or any other things I needed help with. The vibe is dependent on the people who are staying there. Some nights were very chill, but other nights we all partied. I liked the balance. The food is really good and filling. The work consists of patrolling the beach and the turtle hatchery. The beach patrol is definitely hard the first few nights, but it is very hands on and rewarding.

I'm so grateful I got to go on this trip and stay at Patricia's. Both her and Hernan made the whole trip so easy and comfortable. They spoke little English at this camp but it didn't make anything difficult. It allowed me to learn so much more Spanish. The work was hard but the work was only for a couple of hours of the day. This trip was my first solo trip and I would definitely recommend this place!
