The experience
About the Role:
We’re seeking someone with at least a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certificate who can guide our surf retreat participants through daily yoga sessions. You’ll be teaching 1 hour per day — focused on surf-related stretching, meditation, and mobility.
Since we don’t have a yoga shala yet, sessions will be held outdoors — surrounded by ocean views, fresh air, and nature’s calm energy.

Program Details
Your Role & Tasks
Create a simple daily yoga program designed to support surfers — including:
Light stretching and mobility flow before surf sessions to warm up the body
Restorative or gentle yoga after surf for recovery
Meditation or breathwork sessions during chill days to help students relax and connect
Lead 1-hour yoga sessions per day, scheduled either in the morning or afternoon depending on surf time.
Adjust the session based on the group’s energy and surf conditions.
Inspire students to tune into their body and find balance between surfing and mindfulness.

Morning Option
6:00 AM – 7:00 AM
Morning Surf Stretch / Mobility Flow
Ge
ntle stretching and surf-specific mobility exercises to prepare the body before surfing.
Focus on shoulders, hips, spine, and breath awareness.
Can be done at the beach before surf session.
Afternoon Option
4:30 PM – 5:30 PM
Afternoon Yoga / Recovery Flow
Restorative or gentle yoga to release tension after surfing.
Mix of yin poses, slow flow, and short meditation or breathwork.
Can be adjusted for sunset yoga on the beach or open space.
Note: The yoga volunteer may choose either morning or afternoon session depending on surf schedule and group energy.
Additional Tasks & Involvement
Plan a weekly mini meditation or journaling circle (15–20 mins) during chill day.
Help guide light stretching before surf sessions if needed.
Join group activities such as island tours, bonfires, volleyball, or movie nights.
Support the retreat by sharing positive energy and engaging with guests to build a friendly, mindful atmosphere.

Yoga Volunteer Guidelines & Rules
To keep harmony and professionalism during the surf retreat, please follow these simple rules and reminders:
During Yoga Sessions
Always arrive 10–15 minutes early to prepare the space and welcome the students.
Maintain a calm, positive, and respectful tone during all sessions.
Make sure the sequence fits the energy and level of the group — prioritize safety and comfort.
Use gentle guidance and mindful touch (only with permission).
Respect the surf schedule — yoga time may adjust based on surf conditions or weather.
During Group Activities
You are welcome to join tours, surf sessions, and night activities during your free time.
Always show respect and kindness to guests, staff, and local community members.
Avoid excessive drinking or loud behavior, especially during guest hours.
Participate in activities as part of the team, not as a guest — help build a warm and inclusive vibe.
Respect privacy and boundaries of all guests and instructors.
Help encourage a positive, sisterhood energy — support, listen, and uplift others.
General Conduct
Keep personal belongings and shared areas tidy.
Inform Kissy or the retreat coordinator if you’ll be late or unable to teach a session.
Avoid romantic or intimate relationships with students during the retreat.
Represent the retreat’s values of mindfulness, respect, and community spirit at all times.
Be open to feedback and flexible with scheduling — island life flows with nature!
