It was a pleasure to be part of this amazing hostel — amazing people and staff as well. I highly recommend it, and this is the kind of review you might be looking for. The managers and receptionists are the best: super friendly and always willing to help with anything. I would definitely like to come back one day, and I plan to. Volunteering at Avenues Hostel was a chance to always do again! As you get more involved in the tasks to do, you also get the chance to da bit of everything in all of the areas -which always comes as a great chance if you enjoy working in different fields too! There's is a minimum amount of work to do, and an option to da bit more in case if you like connecting with the guests as well as the staff, who day by day you get to know and make the job very easy going and fun! Definitely recommend!

My experience at the hostel was good, and the location is the best part. Being on a main street makes it very easy to move around Budapest. The housekeeping team doesn't speak English, but with a translator and a smile everything works. Tasks are simple: beds, laundry, breakfast or dinner shifts. Food is fine at first but gets repetitive and lacks fruit and vegetables. Doing only the 28 hours gave me time to rest, go out and meet locals. I recommend it, and Budapest is a beautiful—though expensive—city.

I stayed for 2 months and 1 week, and overall my experience was very good. A few issues came up, but we were able to solve them calmly and everything worked out fine. I'm grateful for the experience and recommend the stay, and I would definitely return.

Due to personal reasons I had to cut my stay short, but during the few days I was at the hostel I felt welcomed and cared for by the hostel's team and volunteers. The agreed hours were respected, and I liked that they always want you to feel comfortable with the amount of hours and workload. I just have nothing but words of appreciation for everyone, specially for Csilla who's like a mother to everyone, and Maté who always made me feel welcome. I hope to come back one day, but in the meantime, I wish all of you guys the best!

The hostel is a great place! The work requires dedication, but everything is well organized and people are always supportive. The hostel itself is cozy, very well located, and has a warm and welcoming atmosphere with travelers from all over the world. I truly appreciate everything I learned here and the amazing people I met along the way. I definitely recommend this experience!

I volunteered at this hostel and overall it was a valuable experience. The housekeeping ladies are super friendly, and the managers Tunde and Shila make you feel at home – you can always count on them. Shifts can be intense, but if you ask, they'll support you. The hostel is very clean, but the volunteer flat depends on the volunteers, many are not tidy. Food is not great: often just leftovers or eggs/vegetables, so better to cook your own meals. Sometimes people act like bosses without being managers; always talk directly to Mate, Tunde or Shila.

It was a very fun and Interesting experience <3 I loved the hostel! I am really grateful that I had the chance to volunter here! I met a lot of interesting people in a wonderful place! Also the work was fair and the food was very helpful:) sometimes you have to work a lot but its totally worth it. I loved the city and the people here is very nice and kind… thank you for everything

Volunteering at the hostel was an incredible experience. I had the chance to learn a lot while meeting people from all over the world. Tasks were varied, including preparing beds, helping with breakfast and dinner, supporting the bar and assisting at reception, always with a supportive team. The hostel has a young and welcoming vibe, perfect for practicing English and connecting with travelers. Its central location, fun events, and friendly atmosphere made me feel part of a family. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Budapest.

My 6 weeks in the hostel was amazing. The team the staffs and manager are ready to help always necessary. Csilla, Tunde, Mate, Alex, Amrendra… always helpful. Every week received the schedule with the shifts and is possible to program the weekdays and weekends. The hostel are next mains attractions of the city and public transportation. Anyway, enjoyed it a lot this 6 weeks and recommend everyone this experience in the hostel. Thank you!! Muito obrigado à toda equipe do the hostel!
