It was an amazing experience surrounded by kind, caring and welcoming staff. The children are lovely and really do engage with you despite the language barrier. The staff are so grateful and welcome you within the school. I spent my days in the baby gym which volunteers don't usually do, so the teachers there where really happy and I quickly gained the trust of the little ones (who are super adorable). An unforgettable experience with unforgettable people - I will miss it!

We only spent one week at the international school in Poptun, but it was a wonderful experience and a great time! Mishelle, all the teachers and the kids are very welcoming and friendly. The accommodation is really good. The room is big and clean and the food is delicious. You feel like you are in a beautiful jungle, but the city center is very close. The work is very fun, you can choose your own project and get in touch with the kids! Almost everyone speaks spanish, if you have a little knowledge it is a bit difficult, but good to practice. Sadly, we couldn't stay longer. Thanks to everyone!

Heartwarming and fantastic experience! Highly recommended for someone who loves kids, teaching, learning, and experiencing local culture. People here are very lovely, welcoming, and helpful. The owners are wonderful and the kids will just forever still your heart! You will be asked to help in school 25 hours a week. Tasks may vary according to your interests. You will also have a lot of free time, mostly after 2/3 pm.

Had an amazing time at the school, the people there were absolutely incredible, only spent two weeks there but felt so settled in that was gutted to leave. Definitely important to come with some ability in Spanish already! Great for learning but smoother running if you have a basis probably

Volunteering at the school international was an incredible experience. Juan and Mishelle are extremely welcoming people who are passionate about their work. The teachers are also very friendly and willing to help. The students are adorable and love volunteers. English is very limited at the school, with both teachers and students speaking only a few words so if you don't have at least a basic level of Spanish it will be difficult. I found the experience intense yet rewarding and I would recommend to anyone with a passion for teaching and children.

Volunteering here for about one month was a great and fun experience. Despite the school being new, the staff and students were incredibly eager to learn. Volunteers need to be proactive, because there may not always be established routines. But the staff is very kind, friendly, and supportive. I recommend this place for anyone looking for a rewarding experience. I am very grateful for the lovely staff, parents, and kids. The local the school is welcoming and I've made some incredibly people that I can now call my friends. I will forever cherish the amazing people I met.

The people at the school make you feel really welcome there. After work or on weekends they took us to go swimming or hiking together, we saw sunsets, Tikal and danced together :) Most of them don't speak english that well so if you don't know any spanish it will be a bit harder to hold conversations, but they are all learning english so don't let that stop you! My job was to teach the children (2-11 y.) in the library which included reading together and playing games to teach them things like beeing cooperative, reading and to take care of the books. It was so much fun!

How to start? This was one of my best volunteering experience ever! I felt super welcome, was able to build teaching experience and what stood out to me was that they welcomed my ideas. It was great to shadow and asisst the English teacher Arecely during most of my time. The way they took care of me was amazing too, a great cabin at the school and freshly cooked meals by Yajaira and Aury! I would to thank everyone there who was so kind to me, made me feel at home and made me a part of their lives for one month.

La experiencia fue distinta al de otros voluntarios debido a q arribamos al final del año escolar. El voluntariado se trato de ayudar a la Cafetería más que de hacer trabajo escolar. No tuvimos mucho tiempo con los niños ni con profes, aunque el tiempo con elllos fue de calidad. Asimismo, tuvimos la oportunidad de compartir y conocer a la familia detrás del la escuela la que nos acogió con un cariño honesto y desinteresado. Ellos nos enseñaron de su cocina, costumbres y de la zona en general. Vivimos día de los muertos y otros momentos con ellos dándonos algo inolvidable, un Poptún maravilloso
