My experience was generally quite good at the school. My contribution the first week was mainly through video making, and observing how to school worked to set up projects with the kids. The 2nd and 3rd week, I worked more with the children and teachers, teaching music, meditation and storytelling. The kids are lovely and teachers absolutely dedicated to their work. I would recommend this experience more if you are an extroverted person, who can go with the flow in a differently organised system. For me, that was the hardest part since I am more introverted, sensitive and organised.

Volunteering at the school was an incredibly special experience! the school in Poptun welcomed me with open arms, and I'm so grateful to Mishelle and Juan for making me feel like part of the family. I thoroughly enjoyed working with the children—whether it was baby gym, primary school activities, or collaborating with the other teachers. The highlight of my time there was definitely being able to participate in the vibrant Christmas celebrations that Poptun has to offer. It definitely helps to speak Spanish, and be okay with a cabin in the woods.

One of the most enriching experiences that Sofia and I had, contributing our time so that our little ones had a more fun and productive holiday. A big thank you to everyone who helped us make our journey more beautiful, especially Mishelle for taking the initiative to have volunteers at the school. My experience at the school was really fun, I volunteered for three weeks and had an enjoyable time. The children are the sweetest, and the teachers are fun and welcoming, including Mishelle and her husband who were super accomodating. The town is maybe a 20 minute walk away or you can ride a bike, but it is pretty dark from 6/7pm so wouldn't recommend being out at that time. I'd also add that the school and volunteer cabin is based in a jungle/forest, so it is helpful for all parties that you don't mind this, insects, noisy roosters, and being outdoors etc! Overall, great experience! x

My time at the school here was so nice. The children, teachers and Michelle welcomed me so warmly and with open arms and I immediately felt welcome. The children were super friendly and loving and always managed to put a smile on my face, which made working with them so easy. I would like to thank Mischelle from the bottom of my heart, who was always there for me when I had questions and who made me part of the family for this time. Thank you to the teachers who showed me their culture and their home. Thanks to the children, You have made this a very special time for me.

My girlfriend and I had an amazing time at the school International Poptún. Mishelle and all the staff were super welcoming and available to explain more about the local culture. The school is overall a beautiful project since it sets itself apart from the traditional and obsolete educational system of Guatemala. Unfortunately, we were not able to meet the students since they were on vacation. However, we felt part of the team and had lots of fun!

We had a lovely 10 days at the school in Poptún. Despite the kids being on a two week holiday we still had an unforgettable experience. We got the chance to interact and do (learning) activities with the teachers and get to know all the staff at the school and have fun together. Mishelle and Juan were very friendly and helpful hosts to us. We had very interesting and inspiring conversations with them about the culture and education system in Guatemala. We gained many new insights, new connections, fun times, and local experiences here. Thank you for the opportunity and we hope to return :)

My Time in Poptún, Petén was really nice! I got welcomed so heartwarming from everyone, the kids, the teachers and everyone who was around. I enjoyed working as a photographer and slowly improving my spanisch,I stayed for about just2.5 weeks and I would recommend everyone to stay longer if possible! The area of the school is beautiful set in the nature which makes the climate pretty pleasant. It's a lovely the school and you can see everyone is loving their job as there is always a lot of fun. I got to see lots of new things and got introduced to so much which I really appreciated

It was a pleasure to spend a week volunteering at the school International Poptun. The children, teachers and the support staff were very welcoming to us. It is amazing to see the teachers' love and dedication to the kids' wellbeeing and their education. Everyone at school is happy and cheerful. The school has a beautiful setting in the woods. The goal for us was to contribute our time and skills to the school improvements and in return learn about local Guatemalan daily lives and culture. We loved the experience and the memories will forever be in our hearts.

Working at the school was super fun and rewarding. We only volunteered for 9 days but we really enjoyed our time at the school, meeting locals, enjoying the nature and viewpoints around poptun. We loved having bikes to get about from place to place. The hours were flexible which is great. The teachers are hardworking and you can see the passion and care they have for the children. We hope to come back and visit everyone one day, thank you for having us <3
