Program Details

Discover the joys of living a slow lifestyle in beautiful Norway with nature as your closest neighbour.

We cherish individuals with a positive outlook, who are eager to learn and cultivate their skills. We are looking for someone who has good communication (English/Norwegian/Swedish or Danish language is essential) and has prior experience in the construction field. In the picturesque landscapes of Norway, our work is outdoors, rain or shine, embracing the unpredictable charm of each day

Your role will be helping Arnvid with construction tasks - everything from building floors, walls, putting together a kitchen, bathroom etc. As stewards of the property, you'll also contribute to maintenance, mowing the lawn and lend a hand with various tasks that pop up around the farm as needed.

Activities & Shift

A normal day at the farm would start in the morning after breakfast and finish in the evening before dinner. Ideally you will start your shift with Arnvid when he’s ready, but since no day is the same the days can vary. During the day you will have time for lunch and small breaks.

We are looking for someone who enjoys the tasks mentioned above and has a good work ethic. We would like someone who would potentially consider working longer days, if this suits them, in return for getting 3 days off. You will also have the chance to borrow/rent one of our cars so you can be able to explore the surroundings in your spare time.

Depending on the day you will either have meals cooked for you by the family or you will be provided with food and have access to a fully equipped kitchen to make your own meals.

Rules

We expect you to be kind, understanding, communicative and responsible.
We expect you to follow the hours agreed (these can be flexible during your stay) and to talk openly about any issues or concerns that arise during your volunteering experience with us.
