My stay at Rebetiko was my first Worldpackers experience. It's a family-run hotel in the heart of Ayvalık, and it was truly unforgettable. I'm grateful for the chance to live in such a warm, charming town and meet the amazing Rebetiko family. They genuinely value and respect their volunteers—you can ask them anything without hesitation, and the work hours are always respected. The memories I made with them, I will always cherish.

Such a lovely little city with a lot of opportunities to do other activities, like taking the bus to Izmir or Cunda Island or even the ferry to Greece. The hotel is charming. I had access to the kitchen 24/7 and could do my own stuff if I wanted to. The work is first breakfast service and then housekeeping. I think it's more personal preferences, but I have to say that the housekeeping really exhausted me, so be aware of this. What is also a challenging is the language barrier, it was communicated beforehand, but irl it's kinda difficult. Still the hosts try to make you the best stay❤️

I had an amazing time inthe hotel! The town is beautiful and it was the perfect place to chill. All the tasks were pretty straightforward, just cleaning rooms, dishes and common areas as well as serving breakfast. Everyone is extremely friendly and welcoming! There is a bit of a language barrier but it wasn't a problem and I had fun trying to learn some Turkish. I will miss the delicious food and cuddles from Nefhes & Maya!! Thank you Sima, Bala and Mehmet ❤️❤️

We had great two months with Paige here! She was so helpful and friendly. I agree about the language barrier and we try our best to improve our staff's language :) Unfortunately I wasn't there while she was leaving but I hope she had a great time as much as us <3

I had an incredible time inthe hotel, and I'm grateful to have found a family like Sima's for my first volunteer experience. The language barrier is significant and must be taken into account, but despite this, everyone was very very kind. Bala and Zeineb are incredible cooks, always concerned to see that everything is going well. The work isn't complicated and the hours are always respected. the hotelis a very pleasant and friendly town, with lots to see. I highly recommend this voluntary service. Thank you to everyone for your warm welcome, and I look forward to seeing you again!

I had a lovely stay inthe hotel. The city and surrounding towns are very chill and beautiful + easy to get around by bus! I cleaned the dishes/kitchen with shifts from 4-6 hours a day depending on how many guests were there and hours were always respected. You will most likely spend a lot of time by yourself. Even though the girls who work there don't understand English, they were all super nice and welcoming. Bala is an amazing cook and food was always delicious! Bonus: The cats and dogs love cuddles! Thank you Sima, Bala, Mehmet, Nefhes & Maya🥰

My stay at Rebetiko Otel was truly heartwarming, even tho some moments at first weeks felt slightly awkward ( mostly because of the language barrier). I felt engaged in hotel life and enjoyed trying myself in different volunteering positions. the hotelis an amazing city with all what you need ( beaches, islands, shops, sea views, bazaars…) Sima's family treated me with respect and warmth❤️ I am grateful for this The meals were tasty and warm, very authentic! I appreciate every act of kindness and support made towards me. And, finally, I truly recommend this place for everyone❤️

Sima's position was my first volunteering experience, and I couldn't have asked for a better time. Long before the trip began, Sima was incredibly communicative via email providing information aboutthe hotel, the local area, and expectations for the position. Upon arrival, everything was as agreed and the work was simple, leaving plenty of time to explore and enjoythe hotel. The best part of this experience, however, was how generous and kind hearted Sima, her family and the crew at Rebetiko Otel are. You genuinely feel like part of the family. Thanks for everything Sima, and the Rebetiko crew!!

Staying in Rebetiko was an interesting experience for me! Firstly, I've to say that the hotelis a nice city if u are looking for a quiet place as everything there is moving really slowly, and it's very far away of central cities like Istanbul. The work in the hostel was quite simple, and the shifts were easy to follow. Also, there were like whole hours that u could spend in the pool or just chilling there. Sima and her family were nice with me and helped with every doubt that I could have, and Zeynep, the one that cooks at night, is the most kind and lovely person that i've met <3
