I only had one week at KSES, but I highly recommend doing at least 2 weeks to make the most of this experience! I had such a wonderful time learning all about the elephants and the village itself! the staff and locals were all so lovely which made the week so much more enjoyable ☺️☺️

This was an experience like no other. Very well organized, the team at KSES works to give you a truly impactful experience and challenge you to contribute to what they do. I loved that this experience was all-encompassing. There's no other the shelter experience quite like it, but just as impactful was the integration into the Karen village and the mutual respect there. Learning about the research taking place and taking part in it was truly incredible. A special thank you to Chris, Jas, and Laura who made me feel at home during my time there!!

I spent two weeks at KSES and it was amazing! We were able to hike to see the elephants and collect data on them every morning, and got to spend the rest of the time hanging out in the village with locals and with other travelers / interns / guests that have come to stay. Kerri and Laura were amazing and make you feel so comfortable the entire time! It does take a little getting used to the lifestyle as the project is in a pretty remote village. Overall, a great experience and would recommend doing at least two weeks here!

I had the best time here! Highly recommend. Kerri and her team were super welcoming and I learned so much from this experience even from the short week I spent here. They have created such as wonderful environment for the elephants to roam free in this hands off environment after their years in captivity. My home stay was also lovely and made some delicious meals ;)

Such an incredible experience, we lived in a little local village and went hiking every weekday to watch the elephants. I feel like I learned so much about elephants and how the tourism community impacts them. This project is truly something special and I would recommend to anyone considering to take part in it. I really believe that this project can make a difference even for the elephants they cannot bring home to the forest. Every single one of the staff members is so kind and supportive on top of prioritizing the wellbeing of both their elephants and their volunteers.

A truly unforgettable and unique experience. Living in a local community together with the Karen people is really special. Everyone is extremely friendly! I was there for a week and would happily stay longer. I created a lot of photos and video material. The girls really work on the project with passion and dedication. You have to adapt to accommodation to the life they live (cold showers, etc). Although it is a paid project and not so cheap, I think it is a unique opportunity you have to experience.

Une expérience vraiment incroyable en tout point de vue, que ce soit les humains rencontrés, le projet et l'investissement des locaux, la communication et la découverte des éléphants grâce à des scientifiques avec une solide formation, et enfin le lieu absolument magnifique. Mi experiencia en KSES ha sido maravillosa! Lo recomiendo 100%. Ha sido mi primera experiencia en worldpackers y no podria haber sido mejor. Todos los dias íbamos en busca de los elefantes y hacíamos una recogida de datos y seguimiento de su comportamiento. Nunca habia visto un elefante y fue increíble ademas de todo lo que he aprendido sobre ellos.
