We spent a great week surrounded by 4 great supervisors, as passionate about making us discover their work as about making us discover a real community experience. These 5 days went by super fast, we loved living in contact with the community and the elephants! We recommend it to anyone wishing to experience something unique. Thanks to them again!

We had a great week with KSES. Cristina, Jasmine, Lacey and Maria were very welcoming and kind to us, as were the villagers. This week was an opportunity to learn a lot about elephants, the Karen community and their way of life, and to take part in some great and meaningful projects. We were able to see the elephants every day and had a very busy and rewarding week!

My experience at the shelter was amazing. It's astonishing how in such a short time I could make such lasting connections and learn so incredibly much about the elephants - the 6 at the shelter and the species as a whole. I felt truly integrated in Karen culture and would have loved more time to learn more of the language and spend more time with the people in the village. As for the photography internship, I highly recommend doing a longer stay to be able to capture all that you want and spend adequate time on the projects, as the days can be busy. I hope to return :)

I spent 2 weeks at KSES and had an incredible time. The people, the elephants, the food, the energy all of it made for a genuine transformative experience that I will remember forever. I was a photography / videography intern and created a video for KSES which was amazing to hone in on my skills and get into story telling element I had not had before. The local culture was so eye opening and lovely. It is for sure rustic village life living style but all the basic needs are met and communicated! I learned so much about myself, the culture, elephants and have memories that last a lifetime:)

I had a wonderful time. At first, I had doubts because it was a significant amount of money, but once you arrive, you understand why. KSES does an amazing job supporting the elephants and the local community. After an initial introduction and training on data collection, I became more comfortable and truly enjoyed observing the elephants while contributing to their protection and welfare. The team was incredible, and I felt at home. I also worked on a community project. Everyone helps maintain a clean and welcoming environment by participating in daily tasks.

This was an amazing experience! Laura, Cristina and Jasmine helpede and welcomed me in KSES, I felt like a part of it. Loved how much they care about elephants, environment and locals! Living in a homestay was lovely, I even loved cold showers after great and hot hike! Food (lunch and dinner) was prepared for us from our homestay and it was such a big variety and we shared with each other so we could enjoy even bigger difference. The only thing that was a bitt too much for me was rice. I know that rice is life, but for a while it's going to be enough rice for me.

My experience at KSES was simply an amazing one that words can't fully capture - it must be felt! It's a completely different world where you realize that we don't actually need many material things to live. Everyone there was very kind, patient, and helpful. No one was forced into anything, which made the experience very pleasant. The accommodations were simple but comfortable. The hikes were very fun and beautiful. It's clear that the elephants are living well and are happy! And for me, that's the most important thing. I wish there were more people like those in KSES. Thank you! <3
