Help me on a small alpaca farm in rural Brittany
The experience
I'm Mo and I'm looking for travellers who'd be interested in helping on a small alpaca farm. You will need to be really comfortable with animals as there are 37 alpacas and 3 dogs and 3 cats who are also part of the family.
In addition to the daily work with the alpacas, there is always outdoor work to do on the farm.
I work with the alpaca fibre and I enjoy teaching skills.
English is the language of the farm and I speak quite good French.

Program Details
Alpacas need feeding and looking after every day, all year round and I could need help with anything from looking after the alpacas to pointing the walls of old stone buildings!
Depending on the time of year, there is always something to be done, whether it’s maintaining grassland and fencing, working on building projects or sorting fleeces for spinning.
We work here as a cooperative and non task-based team. I only host one volunteer at a time and you’ll have your own comfortable bedroom and bathroom which I'd ask you to keep clean and tidy yourself.
Activities & Shift
Enthusiastic and willing helping hands are what I need. Work is not hard, but can be physical. Sensible and weather-appropriate working clothes are essential.
I’ve lived in this lovely part of France for many years and have a view of life here that's a bit different. I'm always interested in meeting and exchanging with new people and would enjoy sharing what I've discovered here with you.
I spin fleece from the alpacas and make felt too - if you are interested, you could join in.
I also enjoy cooking and trying new food experiences. If you’d like to share your own cooking skills and food culture, that would be great.
I’m also a teacher of English as a second language, so if you want to improve your English, you'll have a full English-language immersion experience.
Rules
Helpers live as part of the human, canine and feline family - and share dishwashing duties too!
I'll make sure you’re well-fed! I cook a variety of food but I do NOT cook for diets restricted by choice, religion, culture or health, including vegetarian/vegan and gluten/lactose free or intolerance.
The farm is a non-smoking site for health and safety reasons and I don't accept couples, children or pets.
